The one day workshop is designed to take participants through a logical progression of skill
development while adapting their understanding to their own workplace. Training as a profession

Aim:
Language, literacy and numeracy training can assist the trainer to guide their students to improve
their speaking, reading, writing or basic maths skills. This qualification is suitable for those
engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of workplace competencies and/or
components of a structured VET program.

A good understanding of how to determine the core LLN skills of training you deliver;
The skills to determine the core LLN skills of your learners;
the knowledge to customise or develop learning and assessment materials that will meet the LLN needs of the
training specification, the learners and the training context;
Information on how to collaborate with specialists in the field of LLN;
Skills to apply learning support strategies for to assist your learners to develop core LLN skills.
You will also be introduced to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). You will learn how to use this
document to carry out a Core LLN assessment to determine the LLN skill level of your learners.

Catherine has been involved in the business sector for 40 years.
Working in the training sector she shares her experiences and workable applications
with her participants. She delivers nationally accredited courses as well as designing
and delivering workshops for the corporate sector. Her talent in facilitation has seen
her present overseas in Los Angeles, Montreal. Auckland and Las Vegas. Nationally
her clients include Australia Post, Dept of Transport, University SA, University
Adelaide, PMA Australia, PMA International, IPI USA, ESCOSA, Southern Health,
City of Tea Tree Gully, Pacific National and Haigh’s Chocolates..
Helene has been conducting training for the past 18 years, both in Australia and South
Africa. She holds her Diploma of Vocational Education Training and Training Design &
Development. She is a competent author and instructional designer. Helene also lectures
in law studies with University of SA. Her talent to offer participants practical examples
and case studies has ensured the training is maximised for the business operation.
