As part of your enrolment each year with SW TAFE we require you to complete an online literacy and numeracy assessment tool (learning, reading, writing, oral communication, numeracy) to assess what learning support you might need to be successful in your course. What happens with my results? The LLN ROBOT sends your results to the Learning Support Unit (LSU) who will liaise with your teacher directly to support you if required. How long does it take? The online LLN ROBOT should take up to 1 hour to complete. If you need help with this please contact the Learning Support Unit on 5564 8818 or 5564 8740 from Monday – Friday between 8.30am – 4.00pm. When should I do this? You can go to the LLN ROBOT once your enrolment is completed or alternatively the teacher of your course will conduct the LLN ROBOT in your class. LSU staff will contact the Senior Educator or class teacher if a student group or individual has been identified needing literacy and numeracy support. The teacher may also contact the Learning Support Unit if they have concerns on ph.: 5564 8740. All Students coming into campuses including apprentices and trainees will need to do the LLN Robot annually to gauge if support is required. Foundation courses In 2015 Skills Victoria advised that all foundation course students are required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment at the start and the end of their course. Therefore VCAL Foundation, ESL students and any other foundation course students will need to do the LLN ROBOT at the start and end of their course. Please contact 5564 8740 if you have any queries.
