Company Profile
The Scinor group of companies (Scinor Water Limited) is a global supplier of hollow fiber
membranes, modules, systems and plants used for water treatment applications for
industrial and municipal water applications. The core of all of these offerings is our PVDF
Ultrafiltration hollow-fiber membrane created with a patented Thermally Induced Phase
Separation (TIPS) process. These membranes provide the most value to end-users for their
water and wastewater applications due to higher mechanical strength, greater chemical
tolerance, and unsurpassed permeability as compared with other Ultrafiltration
membranes on the market.
The history of Scinor and our unique manufacturing process dates back to 1993 when research
and development began at Beijing’s prestigious Tsinghua University. Research continued for 15
years when Mobius Water Limited (renamed Scinor Water Limited) acquired the rights to the
technology. Mobius also had its roots in Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis since 1993 and was
seeking a game changing
technology to bring initially to the

Limited
competitive Chinese market and
then ultimately abroad.

Company Profile
Experience
By the end of 2014, Scinor has 100 installations of its TIPS PVDF UF
primarily in China with a total installed capacity of 210 MGD. These
installations range in scope from module retrofits for existing
Ultrafiltation systems to new installations for industrial reuse,
drinking water, and municipal treatment. All of these installations
feature Scinor’s TIPS PVDF UF membranes that exhibit the highest
mechanical strength, chemical tolerance, and permeability in the
market ensuring cost-effective solutions for all of our customers.
Green Manufacturing
Scinor manufactures cost-effective, high performing PVDF membranes through a
patented, cutting-edge manufacturing process. Our factories are ISO 9001
certificated and consistently maintain the highest quality standards. The company
extracts and recycles the solvents and diluents used to manufacture the PVDF
membranes and results in a zero liquid discharge process – a first of its kind in the
industry. This manufacturing technique resulted in ISO 14001 certification.
Investors
Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) is a venture capital firm located in Menlo
