Journeyman Electrician BSI designs, builds and furnishes interiors for business. We are looking for experienced, hardworking, reliable electricians for our Waukesha location. Job Summary Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. May install intercom systems, or electrical control systems. This is a full time position and hours are dependent on work schedule. Weekends and evenings are occasionally required. Responsibilities Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Use a variety of tools and equipment including ammeters and test lamps. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes. Direct and train workers to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment, and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors. Work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets. Place conduit, pipes or tubing inside designated partitions, walls or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications. Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Maintain State electrician license. Ability to lift objects up to 75 pounds. Ability to work in heights. Ability to climb & work on ladders. Ability to see in full color (electrical wire is identified by color) Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness and good sense of balance. Bend, stoop, climb, stand, stretch, reach and lift arms above shoulder height repeatedly or continually over time. Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out, HAZMAT, Forklift, Electrostatic Discharge, and ARC Flash knowledge. National Electrical Code (NEC), Comm 16 & NECA Standards knowledge. Good math skills, including basic algebra.
