CLEAPSS Subscription 2011/2012
A large number of primary schools have opted to continue their membership of CLEAPSS through
the LA. Further details regarding costs can be found in the Gloucestershire County Council Services
for Schools brochure. In addition to offering valuable health and safety advice CLEAPSS produces a
range of free downloadable teaching resources. E261 has recently been uploaded onto the site

GCC SERVICES FOR SCHOOLS April 2011 – March 2012
This is a new brochure on Schoolsnet which provides a clear listing of services available to schools in Gloucestershire.
The services are:
 Core Services: Available at no cost to all academies and schools
 Additional Services: Additional services available to maintained schools only
 Traded Services: Available at a charge to all academies and schools
Membership of CLEAPSS is available as a traded service.

The Glos Primary Science resources have been moved and they can be found on Schoolsnet in:

The National Strategies website will close down in June 2011. The content will then be moved to the
National Archives where it will still be accessible, but without some interactive elements.

Assessing Pupil Progress in Science
APP Working Group
A group of colleagues from across the county have worked together to write
probing questions to help teachers to delve into pupils’ understanding of the
five AFs. These will be available to all schools very shortly

E237 Electric dominoes
‘Dominoes’ is a game that can be adapted to help children to link symbols with the names of objects. It can be printed out
and cut up to produce 24 different ‘dominoes’. Each carries a symbol and a different named colour illustration
GlosEd Update
It Worked for us - Stories of Improvement
The 'It worked for us' initiative recognises, celebrates and shares innovation across schools and
settings in Gloucestershire. GlosEd Leaders and ASTs have been enjoying writing stories of
improvement on aspects of writing and talking and these can be found on Schoolsnet.
