(August 10, 2012) –Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, and Knowledge Factor, Inc., the reseach and development leader in adaptive science-based learning software, today signed a partnership agreement that will launch the first suite of MyLabs/Mastering offerings powered by Knowledge Factor’s amplifire™ learning engine in higher education institutions. Over the next three years, Pearson will add amplifire – the most scientifically-advanced, adaptive learning application on the market – to its adaptive family of digital tools, incorporating the software into 150 of its digital MyLabs/Mastering titles across multiple subjects and disciplines and offering students access to amplifire via web, table and mobile device. “We were drawn to Knowledge Factor's amplifire technology for several reasons,” said Paul Corey President of the Science, Business & Technology division at Pearson. “The ‘dynamic study modules’ provide students with a tool that is engaging, has an easy-to-use and intuitive interface, and fosters retention of content and concepts by employing some fairly advanced learning science techniques. The mobile app was especially appealing because it gives today's on-the-go students more opportunities to practice; and there is no getting around the power of practice.” A small, first suite of titles will go live December 2012 for use in Spring semester anatomy & physiology courses, under the name Dynamic Study Modules. The bulk of the roll out will take place in Fall 2013 across a much more varied set of curriculum. “We’re delighted to partner with Pearson to begin to bring amplifire to the education market in a very significant way,” said Bob Burgin, CEO of Knowledge Factor. #### About amplifire Knowledge Factor’s amplifire – the most scientifically-advanced learning software on the market - combines breakthroughs in neurobiology and cognitive psychology with big data analytics to create a powerful and personally adaptive learning experience.
