The Electrical Association of Philadelphia Selective Coordination Class Friday, October 21, 2016 What Is Selective Coordination? Selective coordination is achieved when an overcurrent on a circuit is interrupted and only the closest upstream device opens such that only the section of the electrical system with a problem is taken offline. Selective coordination applies for the full range of overcurrent on the system and the full range of overcurrent interrupting times associated with those overcurrent’s. This presentation will focus on understanding selective coordination. This course will concentrate on the nature of selective coordination, the NEC requirements pertaining to selective coordination, arc flash requirements, and the approaches for obtaining selective coordination.
