NQF Ref xxxx Version 1 Page 1 of 4 National Certificate in Retail (Loss Prevention) (Level 2) Level 2 Credits 40 Purpose The National Certificate in Retail (Loss Prevention) (Level 2) [Ref: xxxx] is an entry level qualification for people who are working or intending to work in loss prevention within the retail industry. This qualification is designed for completion in the workplace. People awarded this qualification are able to provide practical skills in loss prevention in the retail sector. They are able to demonstrate skills and knowledge specific to loss prevention, in particular, theft and fraud, process loss, policies and procedures on loss prevention, recognition of suspicious behaviour by customers and the use of security systems to prevent losses. The elective section facilitates the recognition of skills and knowledge relevant to loss prevention including; legislative requirements in retail, product knowledge of stock, care of stock, stock management procedures and recording losses. This qualification may lead to the National Certificate in Retail (Loss Prevention) (Level 3) [Ref: new] and may also lead to the National Certificate in Retail (Level 4) [Ref: 0995]. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award.
