ST. PETER IN CHAINS, HAMILTON, OH
EN THEOS—ENTHUSIASM FOR THE FAITH
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
In today’s Gospel we see how in
faith, Jarius asked Jesus to heal his
daughter and how Jesus then answered his prayer. In prayer we
also come to know that we are
loved by God. It is that trust in God’s love we ask for healing in ourselves, for our loved ones and for all those who
are suffering.
This past month, through your gifts, our Society of St.
Vincent de Paul brought the love and care of Jesus to
the poor by assisting many families by providing them
food, assistance with utilities and assistance rent and
furniture vouchers. Thank you!

Family Promise Coming Soon to St. Julies
and Your Help is Needed!
There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, June 30th, 7:00
PM. Please meet at the Fenmont in the small bingo hall, 229 North
3rd Street. This meeting is for all current volunteers and those interested in finding out more about Family Promise. Family Promise of
Butler County is just beginning and we have been given a great
opportunity to serve our homeless brothers and sisters, our neighbors in need, through this program! Family Promise runs a program
called the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN). This network program unites the religious community to assist children and families
struggling with homelessness. The program, which uses existing
community resources to provide comprehensive services to families, often invigorates congregations and inspires volunteers to further service. The mission of Family Promise of Butler County, “To
help address the needs of children and families who are homeless in
Butler County by providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive support services.” St. Julies has “stepped up to the plate” and will serve
as a host congregation. St. Peter’s and St. Joe’s have both agreed to
serve as support churches to St. Julie’s. What does it mean to serve
as a host congregation? About four times a year, for a week at a
time, host congregations provide overnight lodging, meals (supper,
breakfast and bag lunch) and hospitality. Hosting rotates among
congregations, which provide lodging for three to five families (up
to 14 individuals) from 6pm to 7am the next morning. Volunteers
cook, serve meals, play with children, help with homework and stay
overnight. They interact with guests, treating them with respect and
responding with compassion. Please come to this meeting on Tuesday, June 30th for further information and to see where you might
serve the Lord! This meeting is open to all St. Peter’s, St. Joe’s and
St. Julie’s parishioners.
