SolvoPrint™ Easy Dot - Matte and Clear
Description
Easy Dot represents a new milestone in easy to install vinyl products. Its unique pattern of adhesive dots
creates air channels that make installation and repositioning easier than ever. It’s ideal for retail and POP
signage that is changed on a regular basis.
It’s so easy to install that you don’t even need a squeegee, just your hand!

Processing and Handling

Easy Dot to aid in installation.
• If the liner is saved, Easy Dot can be removed and
stored on the liner for later reinstallation. If the
adhesive gets dirty, the vinyl will lose its strength, so
take care to keep it clean.
• Care should be used to avoid touching the adhesive to prevent fingerprints from
showing when using Easy Dot Clear.

• While easily removed from most surfaces, the adhesive is permanent and could damage some surfaces
(like foam board or painted drywall). Application tests should be performed before installation on any
surface that has not been previously tested.
• Printable using Latex, Solvent, Eco-Solvent and UV inks.
• The dot-pattern of the adhesive makes it possible to dry install with or without a squeegee.
• Easy Dot can be laminated to add rigidity, protection or to change the gloss of the material. When
laminating Easy Dot Matte with SEAL Print Shield® Standard UV Gloss, the slight pattern of dots created
by the adhesive that is normally visible on the surface was no longer visible. Laminates add rigidity
making the vinyl easier to install in larger sizes.
• The adhesive dot pattern is small enough that it is not visible from more than 3 feet away.
• Always roll graphics print-side out, with a diameter of 3” or greater, to prevent any tunneling in the vinyl.
• Easy Dot can be contour cut; however, due to the dot pattern of the adhesive, smaller items may not
adhere as expected.
Areas of Application
• Short-term applications like trade shows and retail POP displays (graphics that will be removed
or replaced frequently).
• Window graphics (works equally well on glass, acrylic or polycarbonate).
• A better alternative for static cling vinyl (it has better adhesion and durability and can be installed
by a novice without bubbles.)
• Privacy barrier (like frosted vinyl) when durability is not a concern, or when ease of removal is valued.
• Rear projection screen (works well at night - daylight visibility depends on brightness of the projection used).
• Easy Dot on vehicles – while we have used it in test applications, the long-term interaction with the
car’s finish has not been thoroughly tested. Use is at your own risk1.

application. Vehicle graphics tests were installed on flat panels and remained firmly in place at up to 70 mph. Do not apply to a vehicle that has been freshly painted or where the finish is oxidized and / or
failing. A test should be done in an inconspicuous area before applying. Prints are recommended to be removed within two months when used on a painted surface. Do not attempt to remove when the
temperature is above 85◦F as the adhesive is more likely to transfer when hot. Graphics have been observed to shrink about 1/16” on all sides when used outdoors.

Application Notes:
• We do not recommend Easy Dot for installation on painted drywall.
Easy Dot Matte, applied to painted drywall
(indoor office) for approximately 4 months.
Easy Dot is not recommended for use on painted
drywall, as damage to the paint may occur upon
removal.
When removed, a small amount of paint was
removed from the wall. (Amount of paint
removed will depend on many environmental
factors and no guarantees are made for this
application)
• Easy Dot Clear is not recommend for use where it can be exposed to water or rain, as the water will get
between the vinyl and substrate and create the appearance of discoloration.
• Some shrinkage should be expected on outdoor applications. Typically we’ve seen around 1/16" on all
sides (or about 1 row of adhesive dots) of vinyl shrinkage.

Application Notes:
• The amount of shrinkage that is typical can be seen in the photo below.
(Above) Applied for 2 months, and driven at speeds up to
70 mph, only this slight lifting occurred in a body channel
(see curved area of dirt). No adhesive remained on the
vehicle except for the edges where the vinyl had shrunk.

with a finger, or by wiping with isopropyl
alcohol.
• Easy Dot Clear can also be used as a low-cost rear projection screen. It’s great for use in store-front
windows at night (it looks great at night and is also visible during the day, but less so). Brightness
depends on the projector used. Projected light that does shines on the glass outside of the film does
not show. When applying, first carefully clean the inside and outside of the window and let it thoroughly
dry. Next, pre-cut the Easy Dot Clear to the proportions of your projector. It’s easiest to place the
projector in position and then measure the image size and cut the vinyl slightly smaller than the edge of
the light.
• When the projector is not in use, the vinyl will act as a privacy film, allowing light in, but preventing
anyone from seeing through the window.

Lamination
• We have tested Easy Dot with various SEAL brand over laminates and have found no
incompatibilities.
• When using a cold laminator, some silvering may be apparent from trapped air due to the surface
texture created by the adhesive dots. This will go away within a few hours. If using a heat assist laminator,
such as a SEAL 54 or 62 Base, the degree of silvering will be less from the onset.
• A gloss or textured laminate can be used to hide the slight dot pattern that is visible when viewed up close.
• If printing Easy Dot using solvent or eco-solvent inks, wait 12-24 hours after printing before laminating
to allow the ink to outgas.
• Thermal and low-melt over laminates, such as Jet Guard® and ThermaShield® are not recommended.
