Lead System Engineer, MR Imaging Scientist
Description:
MR Imaging Scientist works in close collaboration with the cross-functional engineers, clinical
applications, scientists, customers, marketing team, and field teams to define and develop new product
technologies to meet customer needs. This MR Imaging Scientist position has a high emphasis and a
strong focus on MR image/signal quality, to drive significant design improvements in product
architecture.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Define system image quality acceptance criteria that will meet customer expectations. Drive image
quality evaluation of system features with complex designs; such as parallel transmit architecture,
new integrated coils, and resonance module design changes.
2. Develop methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on image quality. Specify
requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to clinical image quality; such as
eddy current specs, gradient performance specs, and B1 distortion specs.
3. Provide domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, technical discussions, and risk
mitigations to achieve best optimization in system performance and image quality.
4. Provide leadership for cross-functional (software/hardware/coils/applications) investigation of system
image quality issues. Lead and drive innovative solutions for complex system image quality issues;
such as vibration, shading, and stability.
5. Work closely with customers, marketing, clinical applications and field personnel to define system
requirements which can flow down to subsystem engineering teams.
6. Work across functions and team boundaries to help define, design, and implement the next
generation of MR products.
