To strengthen our Brazil Analytics Team in São
Paulo we are currently seeking for an analytically
driven Analyst with expertise in tool development and
advanced database management. As a core member
of McKinsey’s Analytics team, you will be responsible
to develop prototypes in Excel and Access, conduct
statistical analyses, and evaluate large data sets, and
creating optimization model.
We seek candidates who are passionate about, and have
experience in, using data and implementing effective data
management techniques to facilitate answers for diverse
business problems. Specifically we are looking for candidates
that meet the following criteria:
With a team of Knowledge Colleagues, you will be
based in São Paulo and you will work with McKinsey
consultants from Brazil and around the world.
You will work with data scientists, data architects,
consultants and clients on projects that use complex
data and advanced modeling to solve client problems
and deliver significant measurable impact. You will
be exposed to an enormous variety of topics across
many different industries such as, a world-leading bank
figuring out how to best do its customer care across
all of its channels, a railway determining optimal crew
deployment, or a medical care provider understanding
the main drivers for delays in surgery scheduling.

ƒƒ Advanced degree in mathematics/Statistics/Physics/
Econometrics/Computer Science/Math Engineering or
related degree programs and outstanding academic results
ƒƒ Experience in mathematical software, databases,
programming languages, and comfortable working with large
data sets; in particular proficiency in R and/or SAS; additional
knowledge of other statistical software is helpful
ƒƒ Advanced experience developing dashboards, KPI, ETL
(extract transform load), automated data transform.
ƒƒ Previous work experience in building data marts and
programing in at least one of SQL, Oracle, Excel-VBA,
Access, Sybase, MySQL,
ƒƒ Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving
skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root
causes and recommend solutions
ƒƒ Ability to independently own front-end tool development and
decisions, balancing demands and deadlines
ƒƒ Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate
technical content in an easy to understand way
ƒƒ Strong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional
attitude
ƒƒ Strong academic qualifications, including advanced
understanding/coursework in database management and
math (Linear Algebra, Calculus)
ƒƒ Fluency in both written and spoken English
ƒƒ Position requires ability to travel

To strengthen our Brazil Analytics Team in São Paulo
we are currently seeking a creative and energetic Senior
Analyst. We are looking for engineers and scientists who
are passionate about data and want to apply Machine
Learning techniques (e.g neural networks, boosting,
bagging, reinforcement learning, etc) to solve real-world
problems for enterprises and consumers.
ƒƒ Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and
quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues,
identify root causes and recommend solutions
Role Description
ƒƒ Strong people skills, team-orientation, and a professional attitude
You will work on all aspects of the design, development and
delivery of machine learning enabled solutions including
problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and
visualization, feature engineering, experimenting with ML
algorithms, evaluating and comparing metrics, deploying
the models, iteratively improving the solution, building the
tools for this process etc.
Qualifications
You will work with data from diverse structured and
unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming
modes.
You will work with consultants, clients or internal teams to
prepare complex data analyses and models that help solve
client problems and deliver significant measurable impact.
Your work will be project-oriented: you will often be
responsible for the entire analytical process – from outlining
the type of solution through implementation, interpretation
of results and transferring capabilities to the client or
colleagues. You will constructively discuss your findings in
dialog with consultants and clients – while always looking
for the best solution. Some work at the client site is
expected.

ƒƒ Ability to independently own and drive model development,
balancing demands and deadlines
ƒƒ Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate
analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way
ƒƒ 2+ years of professional experience in applying machine
learning and data mining techniques to real problems with
copious amounts of data
ƒƒ Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics,
Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research or equivalent
technical field
ƒƒ A Ph.D degree in Computer Science is highly desired.
Candidates with a Ph.D in other quantifiable fields (e.g. Statistics,
Mathematics, Physics) with applied practical experience and
programming background are also desirable
ƒƒ Ability to prototype statistical analysis and modeling algorithms
and apply these algorithms for data driven solutions to problems
in new domains
ƒƒ Experience with very large scale data processing/analysis
ƒƒ Ability to work independently to actively identify and drive
solutions for evolving business problems
ƒƒ Proficiency in R, SAS, SPSS or other statistical package
ƒƒ Experience in working with large datasets and relational
databases is highly desirable (SQL)
ƒƒ Knowledge of additional programming languages is a plus
(Python, C++, Java)
ƒƒ Fluent in Portuguese and English is necessary.
