Slim electro-magnetic compact ballast with thermal protection
The “HSN Hybrid Ballast” is being produced in the same factory as our own brands “EuroGear Pro” and
“LuxGear” which built up a reputation in the horticultural market during the last years. This way we can ensure a
stable quality directive for our ballasts.
The “HSN Hybrid Ballast” is a “nice price” product, available in the typical wattages 250W, 400W and 600W
suitable for HPS lamps. The 250W and 400W versions can also run on HPI-type lamps.
The excellent cost-benefit-ratio distinguishes itself in an intelligent compromise between ballasts with and
without housing: It “only” covers the components and is thereby able to be narrower and lower than other
comparable ballasts – additionally costs for a complete housing are being dropped.
Like our other ballasts this one is also thermally protected, which to our mind should be considered a necessary
standard for ballasts in the European market, but by no means is to find at all gears.

The luminaires of the E-Papillon series are high quality products and already proved successfully in the traditional
horticulture market.
The E-Papillon is being delivered as complete bundle including reflector, brand new Philips GreenVision EL ballast
and Philips GreenPower EL lamp. Mounting brackets and junction box as well as fixing elements are also included in
the delivery. Ballast and lamp are pre-installed.
The E-Papillon has many advantages compared with other fittings. More growth light can be produced using the same
amount of energy. The fittings have a reflector with a yield of 92%, which means that the E-Papillon is the most energy
efficient fitting currently available.
The reflector part is also simple to remove from the fitting. The temperature of the outside of the fitting is as low as
possible thanks to the reflector cover that fits over the reflector. The top of the reflector cover has a maximum temperature
50 °C, so the fitting is safe to touch and the risk of fire is minimal.
As a rule elevated temperatures and electronics are not a good combination, and therefore during the development of the
E-Papillon it was decided to put the electronics behind the reflector. This prevents the electronics from being exposed to
radiant heat emitted by the lamp. The life span of the electronics is consequently guaranteed and you can get the greatest
possible benefit from the electronic system in the fitting.

possible benefit from the electronic system in the fitting.
Research into the effect of light on plants has revealed that diffuse light gives the best results. The open reflectors provide
plenty of additional light overlap so that the light penetrates deep into the plants.
Assimilation lighting is often associated with an excess of unusable heat immediately under the fitting. Hot areas can be
created at the top of plants, which have a negative impact on the plants’ growth and development. The heat generated at
the surface of the lamp is not transferred directly to the plants, but indirectly through transport by the air in the greenhouse.
By employing the open reflector concept, a natural air flow is created that ensures the heat is gradually distributed in the
vicinity and prevents the creation of hot areas in the plants.
E-Papillon 1000W fittings have a 1000W Philips lamp. For this lamp, Lights Interaction has developed a new two-part lamp
holder in collaboration with Vossloh-Schwabe in Germany.
It is impossible to touch the lamp’s contact wire because of the raised socket rim. In this way the two-part lamp holder
makes it safe and easy to change the lamp. The integrated switch ensures that the electrical circuit is interrupted upon
opening. At the same time the contact wire is released and the lamp can be replaced without problems. During
replacement the lamp does not need to be rotated, so the chance of damaging the lamp is kept to a minimum. The lamp
clips ensure that the lamp stays in place, so you have both hands free for the fasteners.

GreenPower LED production module mounting bracket
Save up to 60% energy with the Philips GreenPower LED production module in multilayer cultivation
LEDs are used most effectively if the spectrum and light level are exactly tuned to the crop and growth
conditions. In the past years, Philips conducted more than 50 field tests to determine the optimal spectrum and
light level for multilayer production. This results in the GreenPower LED production module reducing energy
consumption and creating a more uniform light distribution.
The GreenPower LED production module for multilayer applications (50-400 μmol/s/m2) can replace
conventional TL lighting (36 W or 58 W) reducing energy consumption up to 60%. For most applications, the
modules with the mix deep red/blue can be used. Next to energy efficiency, LEDs provide less heat and a more
uniform light distribution. This makes the module also perfectly fit for conditioned environments.
Optimized lighting:
Three spectrum versions are available. Next to the most commonly used deep red/blue mix we offer a deep
red/white version if work light is needed. If no blue is required for growth the deep red version can be used.
Consistent quality:
The GreenPower LED production module ensures a uniform light distribution across the shelves, which means
that every plant receives the same level and quality of light.

Philips GreenPower LED flowering lamp: the energy-saving alternative for extending day length when cultivating
e.g. strawberries and bedding plants or producing cuttings from chrysanthemums and kalanchoes.
This lamp is based on advanced LED technology and has been specially developed as a replacement for the
incandescent lamp to extend day length to control flowering or to break the winter dormancy of plants such as
chrysanthemums and strawberries. With the Philips GreenPower LED flowering lamp you can save over 80% on
energy costs.
Appropriate light:
Based on successful tests carried out in the field, three different lamps have been developed, each offering a
specific light recipe for different plants: 100% far red (FR), a combination of deep red and white (DR/W) and a
combination of deep red/white/far red (DR/W/FR).For optimum control, a specific spectrum of light is required
for each plant type. Please contact us if you require help choosing the right type of lamp for your plants.
Higher output:
The Philips GreenPower LED flowering lamp combines an optimum spectrum with a low energy consumption. In
contrast with the incandescent lamp, the spectrum and light level of the lamps in this range are geared to the
specific light requirements of the plant. As a result, you can save more than 80% on energy consumption
compared with an incandescent lamp. Flexibility and convenienceThanks to the different versions available, the
GreenPower LED flowering lamp offers the best possible freedom of installation. The lamps have a standard E27
fitting and are suitable for direct replacement of the lamps in your existing installation, without the need for any
modifications to the installation.

SON is the Philips name for arange of high-quality highpressure sodium lamps. The Philips MASTER SON(-T)PIA
PLUS and the MASTERSON(-T) PIA Hg-Free are highpressure sodium lamps with PIA (Philips Integrated
Antenna) technology. The sintered aluminum oxide
discharge tube with integrated antenna is enclosed in a
vacuum soda-limeor hard-glass outer bulb. The MASTER
SON-T PIA (PLUS) lamps have a clear tubular outer bulb
and the MASTER SON PIA (PLUS) an inside white-coated
outer bulb. The lamps employ a ballast and ignitor in
accordance with IEC.
The increased pressure in the MASTER SON PIA PLUS
lamps increases the luminous efficacy up to 150 lumen
per watt. It is the most efficient SON lamp with the best
light-technical performance resulting in the lowest energy
use and therefore recommended for all new lighting
installations and replacement in existing (PLUS)
installations. In order to obtain this optimal efficacy and
light-technical performance in combination with full
retrofitability a discharge tube filling with sodium-mercury
amalgam is needed. The PIA technology, the new
construction and the new ZrAl getter are the guarantee
for a reliable operation, low early failure rate and
improved lumen maintenance. The new MASTER SON (T) PIA PLUS lamps will be lead free.

SHP - (T)S Super is a range of high pressure sodium products offering the unique combination of very high
efficiency and long life.



High pressure sodium products with very high lumen output: Up to 150 Lm /W
Pleasant, warm, golden white light colour of 2050 K
Extended life in comparison to standard SHP products: Up to on average 30 000 hours
SHP - TS GroLux is a range of tubular high pressure sodium lamps with improved characteristics and
performance, especially developed for supplementary lighting in greenhouses. With the SHP - TS GroLux
products it is possible to increase both the total amount of light to the plants and its quality without costly
modifications to existing lighting installations.
The special spectrum of the GroLux lamps adding blue and much more red to the spectrum in comparison to
regular SHP products results in :
More, larger and better flowers
Thicker, longer, heavier stems of improved quality
Taller and longer plants
Increased volume in crops
Opportunity for out of season crops
Using existing fixtures and ballast combinations, an increase of up to 10% in visible light and phyto (plant)
lumens can be observed.
 Improved light quality : adding more blue and much more red light to which plants are very sensitive

GE Lucalox™ HO High Pressure Sodium lamps
Superb Performance and Longer Life GE’s external amalgam reservoir keeps more sodium for longer, slowing
the voltage rise which gives a rated average life of up to 28,500 hours.
GE Lucalox™ XO High Pressure Sodium
These lamps offer outstanding luminous efficacy, lumen maintenance and long life, thus reducing energy and
maintenance costs. Simplicity and robustness deliver higher reliability. In addition, they are compatible with both
magnetic and GE approved electronic ballasts.
Lucalox™ PSL
GE's advanced sodium resistant ceramic helps eliminate early failures to givea rated service life of up to 12,000
hours for the LucaloxTM PSL products.
The lamp uses extra rugged monolithic arctubes equipped with GE Reliable Starting Technology which provides
continuous high performance. Extra light and PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) output. Improved PAR
maintenance that drives constant and uniform plant growth.

TL5 lamps are fluorescent lamps with a diameter of 16 mm, which is 40% thinner than the diameter of existing
TL-D lamps. TL5 HE lamps are designed for highest efficacy and system miniaturization. With the TL5 HE range
highest efficiency will be reached with direct lighting in e.g. offices.
TL5 HO lamps are especially designed for operation with electronic gear. Due to the high lamp voltages 50 Hz
is not recommended or supported.
Characteristics: A high lamp efficacy of up to 104 lm/W, a lumen maintenance of about 92% at 10,000 burning
hours, a colour rendering index of 85, a low mercury dose, at a 3 hours switching cycle the lamps will last
20,000 burning hours if operated on appropriate HF warm-start ballasts, the lamps are well-suited for dimming,
the lamps can be ignited from -15 °C to +50 °C ambient temperature and are striationpoor even at low
temperatures as compared to TL-D lamps.

A new quality of light: activates and motivates.
SKYWHITE® fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps with light color 880 (color temperature 8 000 K with
good color rendering) are characterized by their impressive quality of light. They emit a large proportion of
“blue” light in the wavelength range from 410 to 460 nm and therefore come very close to the character of
natural daylight. This in turn means that SKYWHITE® improves contrast and reduces visual fatigue – and that is
known to boost mental and physical performance. The high luminous flux and high efficiency (up to 85 lm/W) of
SKYWHITE® are equally impressive.
T5 technology has definitely arrived. T5 fluorescent tubes with a tube diameter of just 16 mm enable spacesaving luminaires to be made even more compact than with the old “standard tubes” with their tube diameter of
26 mm. But only LUMILUX® T5 from OSRAM combine the benefits of compact T5 design with innovative
LUMILUX® technology.
Particularly economical: LUMILUX® T5 HE
At 104 lm/W, this is the “diesel” among T5 fluorescent tubes.
Ideal for office lighting: energy savings of up to 40%.

New standards in lighting design:
OSRAM DULUX® L opens up new possibilities for lighting designers. With its pleasant and energy-saving light,
it can provide interesting and unusual effects for the entire indoor and outdoor lighting.
These compact fluorescent lamps are available in the wellestablished colours LUMILUX® and LUMILUX® DE
LUXE, known for their excellent colour rendition. They can be easily combined with existing LUMILUX® lighting.
As a compact light source with a high lumen level, OSRAM DULUX® L lamps meet the highest standards of
performance. Despite having virtually the same luminous flux and the same power consumption as tubular
fluorescent lamps, they are less than half as long and more compact than U-shaped and ringtype
lamps. Availabel in the wattages 18, 24 and 36, OSRAM DULUX® L can be used both with conventional control
gear and with electronic control gear. At higher performance levels OSRAM DULUX® L 40W, 55W and 80 W are
exclusively designed to be operated with electronic control gear.
