Reports to: Service Assistant
Job Purpose: To provide as and when required a caring responsive car and driver
service for our older vulnerable , in particular on the Hospital 2 Home service, or
good neighbours service transporting volunteers and service users from hospital and
their homes to appointments or shopping etc.
Key Responsibilities
1. To collect and transport volunteers and service users in accordance with
service specifications and service level agreements. Using the most cost
effective routes where possible.
2. To complete safe and well checks in accordance with organisation operating
procedure for each service user and/or journey.
3. To manage the reconciliation of monies collected from customers where
appropriate and issue receipts in accordance with operating policy and
procedures.
4. To undertake manual / general office based administrative duties and
complete paperwork a required.
5. To provide a high standard of customer care, service and professionalism.
6. To ensure the vehicle is clean, tidy and well maintained on a daily basis
remembering we are representing RVS in the community.
7. To plan and undertake relevant vehicle safety checks and carry out
administration for the vehicle in accordance with legal requirements and
organisation operating procedures ensuring the service is not interrupted.
8. To ensure that all appropriate food and health and safety practices are
implemented and followed to meet statutory and organisation operating
standards.
9. To operate and offer support over a seven day period including bank holidays
as required and available.
