❍ Request a brochure from the Admission Office.
❍ Call to arrange an interview, school tour, and visit day. All interviews must be completed by February 1, and all
visit days must be completed by March 1. Keep in mind that visit days occur during the admission process and
NOT post-decision. You may schedule a visit day before submitting the application, but the application must be received before the visit day occurs.
❍ File the application with a $50 non-refundable fee and photo of applicant before February 1.
❍ Submit student essay(s) before February 1, by mail or email.
Students applying to the Middle School must submit a “Courage and Confidence” essay.
Students applying to the Upper School must submit a “Courage and Confidence” essay and
an original essay containing a grade and/or teacher comments.
❍ Sign and send transcript release form to current school. Make request that principal or guidance counselor,
English teacher, math teacher, and personal recommendation forms be completed and returned by mail or email to
the Admission Office before February 1. All applicants must forward the recommendation forms to their teachers.
❍ Middle School applicants must sit for the ISEE. Upper School applicants must sit for the SSAT.
Scores must be received before February 1.
❍ To be considered for financial aid, apply online through School & Student Services at sssbynais.org/parents
beginning November 2. The Parents’ Financial Statement must be completed by February 1. 2014 and 2015 tax
returns must be uploaded to SSS by February 15. Newton Country Day School cannot guarantee the availability
of funds for late applicants.
❍ Admission and financial aid decisions are mailed on March 10. The Board of Trustees will determine the tuition
for the 2016-2017 academic year by this date.
T u i t i o n P a y m en t S c h ed u le
Tuition and fees for the 2015-2016 academic year total $44,740, which includes the $43,990 tuition
and a $750 fee for student activities. A sample payment schedule follows:
April 10 $2,000 enrollment deposit due to secure place in class
July 31
One half of tuition balance minus enrollment deposit plus $750 student activity fee
December 31 Balance of tuition
Families may participate in the Smart Tuition payment plan. This option includes a $45 enrollment fee
per family, which allows families to pay for tuition in 10 monthly installments beginning in June.
Students entering the Upper School will be required to bring a network compatible laptop computer for
use in their classes, purchasing if necessary.
