Basic Switch Operations
Configuring basic switch operations
using both the Command Line
Interface (CLI) and Graphical User
Interface (GUI). Initial connection, start
up, port management and feature
licencing.
Switching Concepts
Introduction and configuration of
switching concepts such as forwarding
databases, port security / mirroring,
broadcast limiting / storm control and
Layer 2 filtering.
RSTP
Introduction of Spanning Tree protocol
and its parameters. Implementation
and configuration of Rapid Spanning
Tree Protocol.
Virtual LANs (VLAN)
VLAN theory and configuration is
discussed, including VLAN trunks and
private VLANs.
Link Aggregation
Introduction to link aggregation types
and traffic split criteria. Configuring
both static and LACP-based port
aggregation.
IP
Covers the basic concepts and
configuration of Layer 3 services in
AlliedWare Plus™ switches.
Stacking
VCStack™ introduction and
configuration, software and
configuration file synchronization,
rolling reboot, resiliency link and
managing stack members.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
Introduction to the Power over Ethernet
standard technology and configuration.
SNMP
Overview of SNMP and MIBs,
configuration and implementation.
