PERFORMANCE IS KEY
These lights are specifically designed for those applications in which a dedicated vertical beam is
required for highlighting exterior features or environments. They can be mounted on a wall, hung
above entryways for a specific lighting effect. Having a simple design they are easy to install and
maintain, and will blend into any commercial environment. The finned aluminum design can withstand
the harshest of outdoor environments to provide worry free exterior lighting.
This LED lighting option provides a long life energy saving solution, uses minimal wattage when
compared to existing Halogen or Incandescent technology. So whether used to wall wash the side of
a building, a fountain, or placed over an entryway, these exterior LED lights gives any designer the
flexibility and options they need to provide award winning exterior lighting program.

Simple and sleek aluminum Cammino radiates light 360 degrees on walkways and borders. Their exterior
hides high temperature silicone shields which protect the long lasting LED from water, dirt and insects.

The original bollard dates back to Roman times when they were primarily used as markers
or posts to tether a horse. Today, they are used to light the course of a pathway or to
illuminate or designate a specific area. Amerlux offers a wide variety of colors, designs and
lighting technologies to fit any décor or environment. These products are made from either
cast or extruded aluminum, and are weather resistant and tamper proof. Many have
optional optical systems that spread light down where it is most needed.

AN EARLY 20th CENTURY LOOK WITH MODERN OPTIONS
The Acorn lens was an iconic design for street lighting back on the early 1900’s and still remains a key design for
many street lights today. Amerlux has utilized this popular design to provide lighting designers with silhouettes in
pointed, rounded and ornate to fit many applications and plans. The lens are available in a clear textured
acrylic or polycarbonate or white textured polycarbonate, for durability and vandal resistance, as opposed to
glass, which can easily be damaged or destroyed. Additional options of 8 cast aluminum fitters (see below), 3
finials, various light directional and louver options make this one of the most versatile products available today.
All parts are weather resistant to make this the product of choice for any refurbishment or new construction
street or path lighting project.

The charm of eighteenth century American street lighting in Philadelphia is transformed into our four sided
lanterns with the use of modern materials and updated technology. Through the use of clear acrylic lenses,
Amerlux offers different optical effects, chimney glass to give the effect of the glow of incandescent lighting or
a symbolic torch.

FRENCH QUARTER REDUX
This remarkable six-paneled collection recreates the gas lantern found in New Orlean’s French Quarter. Its traditional
silhouette complements Georgian and Victorian schools of architecture as well as any transitional environment.
The unique canopies distinguish each style from a raised triangle to a bell shape for a different aesthetic effect.
Modern materials (textured, prismatic and clear smooth acrylic) replace glass lenses to offer options and help prevent vandalism.
An internal borosilicate refractor is just one of the many ways that may be used with the clear lens for optimal light distribution.
A high efficiency light source guarantees hours of optimum opperation.
The hinged cast aluminum lid allows ease of access to replace parts. The exterior powder coated finish brings durability and is

CURVED DIFFUSERS ADD INTEREST
With the advent of modern manufacturing, it became possible to bend the lenses of street lanterns giving them a softer,
smoother look. The D231 and D232 copy the silhouette of the hurricane gas lantern with its circular shade suspended on
a metal fitter. The fitter’s harp holds up a white hinged cast aluminum cap to allow ease of access to replace parts. A
scalloped crown on the top of the body completes the picture along with an impressively large vent cap and finial.
The D260 Series is much smaller (16") but offers a highly refractive acrylic lens and a series of 9 fitters (see page 58) that
change the look and height of the luminaire.
The D357 combines a clear conical lens shape with a traditional canopy. It offers the four lighting options: the horizontal
reflector, the faceted downlight reflector, the aluminum louver and a borosilicate glass refractor. The emphasis in style is

BENDING AND DIRECTING LIGHT
Along with finishing design touches, these lights are made of molded acrylic or polycarbonate that refracts the light
from the lamp controlling its direction. Light can be made to fall symmetrically (T5) or asymmetrically (T3). They are
the ultimate in commercial design, aesthetically pleasing by day and efficient by night.
Design details in some series include a prismatic top, spun aluminum cap with decorative ring and brass ball finial, or
an ornate acorn shape with optional brass decorative band. Diffusers come in 14 and 16 inch widths and can have
as many as 9 different fitters to change their looks.
Their water resistant finishes and light source options make them an excellent choice in any outdoor commercial

SUMMARY
Circular shaped luminaires were first introduced with the development of the incandescent light in the early 1900’s.
This classic street light was predominant in public places and parts to project an image of order and safety. Now
Amerlux has taken this classic design and updated it with advanced lighting technology, manufacturability and design
in multiple varieties. Lenses are made of acrylic or polycarbonate to withstand the elements, and come in 16", 18" and

make this fixture suitable for a wide variety of decorative applications.
LOW ENERGY, HIGH PREFORMANCE
The decorative housing is vented both on top and bottom to allow natural air convection
cooling of sealed optical chamber, while protecting the heat-sink fins from debris collection.
Greater than 88% optical efficiency, highly uniform with reduced hot-spot and greater fixture
center spacing. This fixture uses less than 60% of the energy yet achieves greater fixture
spacing, improved uniformity.

SPOTTING TRAFFIC HAZARDS
As American society became more mobile, it became obvious that street lighting was an absolute necessity.
Consequently, in 1892 New York installed bishop’s crook posts that suspended metal shades with acorn
pendants over roads to ensure safe nighttime travel.
These classic pieces are now reinvented in the Amerlux Pendant Series. Their cast aluminum housing withstands
wet environments and extreme weather change, while the decorative metal shield mimics the old world style
of long ago.

Our cast poles are fluted and tapered for a Neoclassical look. They have a larger circumference that tapers to 3" tenons to
fit all our luminaires. Also, they come in fixed heights within a particular series so it’s important to check their measurement
to determine if they fit the specifications for their intended site.
Like their extruded counterparts they have optional dusk to dawn photocells, and exterior and interior grounded outlets.
They are also heavier and can hold larger luminaires, and comfortably support double bracketed lights.
Finishes in standard, premium, and custom order make these poles an easy-to-use component on any tree-lined boulevard
or broad avenue. They are the best choice for that small town and historical look that so many communities desire.

Our pole base covers allow you to conceal unsightly existing anchor bolts or simply add a decorative element to a
non-decorative pole. There are models available for poles from 3" OD up to 7" OD. All covers (except as noted) are
constructed of corrosion resistant cast aluminum. The base covers fall into two general types as shown below. When a
particular cover is available in both types, the desired type must be specified.
WR (Wrap around) – The cover will consist of two identical halves (split vertically) that will bolt or screw together after
being positioned on the pole. This style is generally easier to install on existing poles.
SL (Slip-over) – The one piece cover must be slipped over the pole after installation, before any luminaires are installed.
The tenon or access door must not exceed the diameter of the shaft. This style is typically more difficult to install,
however it is generally much better for vandal prone areas.
Note: If the pole is exsisting or supplied by others, we must have the details of the mounting plate and access door.

We recommend Textured Black (TBK) as the finish of choice when specifying black as the
color. The fine textured finish of TBK gives the appearance of a lower gloss level than BLK
and is therefore more forgiving to minor surface imperfections and dirt (printed sample
appears lighter than actual finish in order to illustrate texture).
