Lappeenranta University of Technology Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) is the largest energy research and education organisation in Finland. At LUT, we know that no one technology alone can solve the crisis of global warming but a combination of technologies and actions based on life cycle thinking and sustainable development is required. Our core activities focus on research and development of advanced clean energy systems. Here, expertise in power electronics is our core competence and the mainstay of success for achieving excellence. Green Campus We will present you our Green Campus, which we consider to be a unique research and test bed environment serving as a living laboratory for energy expertise and related innovations. We are continuously making further steps to develop a low-carbon Green Campus system building on the considerable recognition gained from the Academy of Finland and industries for our outstanding expertise and research infrastructure in Power Electronics. The University produces renewable green energy on campus and aims at showcasing expertise in smart grids and energy storage technologies. LUT Green Campus has the facilities, skilled people, and comprehensive cross-disciplinary understanding to innovatively design and deliver the research infrastructure that is needed to research and develop, test and teach, apply and share the technological, environmental, economic and societal aspects of sustainable energy production and use. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Lappeenranta; you will find our city to be the most beautiful Green Campus City of the North. We have already pre-booked many hotel rooms to welcome you during these three fascinating days with a thought-provoking programme and excellent networking opportunities. 3 AIMS OF CONFERENCE: EPE ECCE Europe is the place for specialists in power electronics, systems and components to present papers and attend sessions on state-of-the-art technology in this challenging and evolutionary sector.
