INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS
Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) is used for efficient traffic management in developed countries. So, it can be implemented in
our country to solve the problems related to road transport. Static mobile and Hybrid Sensors are used in ITS to get information
regarding the road. Inductive loops along with dynamic light sequence traffic system plays an effective role in this system. ITS is
used to minimize deaths due to accidents as the sensor used gives information regarding the victims as soon as possible. It is the best
way to control traffic in big cities of India. As traffic congestion and accidental problems are increasing day by day, we are in need
to implement ITS in India for a safe and comfortable transport.

Student’s Corner: Road Reigner
In present decades we have witnessed rapid motorization, urbanization,
industrialization, and other changes consequent to globalization. An
accompanying effect of these changes is the increasing road crashes and deaths
due to lack of safety policies and programme. Undoubtedly, deaths and injuries
on roads are manmade disasters. It is common to see un-scientific growth
and planning of cities and highways, improper focus on public transportation
and umpteen numbers of human behaviors on Indian roads. Safety has not
been given importance in our development and expansion of mobility and
motorization networks. In order to avoid these crashes, an advanced road transport system ignoring the normal traffic
signals but utilizing the advanced methodologies is being promoted. The main idea is to use a microcontroller to avoid
mishaps and reduce life loss by simply allowing the vehicle to follow signals. If red signal is sensed, the vehicle stops
automatically and also provides alert that you can move to the drivers, when green light is sensed.
