ABOUT PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT People Development is a multifaceted department which offers a wide range of training and development to meet the needs of Head Office and Dealership staff covering business and technical training through a mixture of online classroom based learning. We have a strong focus on growing the talent of our people to build world class teams. PURPOSE OF THE JOB As a Technical Trainer you will prepare and deliver high quality technical training for Dealer Service Technicians, Toyota New Zealand (TNZ) employees and other key stakeholders, based on TEAM 21 curriculum provided by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC). Page | 1 08/06/2016 KEY ROLES AND DUTIES KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Training Delivery • Prepare and deliver New Model Training: o Teach technical service information specific to model o Customise training course from original documentation TMC, TMCA, etc. o Modify, edit, and add information pertinent to NZ market o Complete preparation in order to facilitate training course o Complete run-through cycles of course. • Provide training for Recertification’s. • Prepare and deliver training for the Technical Skills Competition, (biannually). • Deliver General Automotive Knowledge courses to interested TNZ and Dealership employees, as required. • Complete Regional Workshop Training, when appropriate. • Customise training courses from original TMC documentation: o Ensure training course align with NZ market o Assess TMC documentation is properly translated o Work on the presentation of material to assist training development and understanding o Insert information pertinent to NZ market, dealers, etc. o Complete roughly two week preparation in order to facilitate training course o Go through run-through cycles of course, roughly 3. • Create and/or update online E-Learning Modules for various training courses and relevant information. • Update and maintain all training courses in regards to technological changes and advancements. • Provide technical assistance to interested stakeholders i.e. Automobile Association, NZ Fire Service: o Provide emergency response information for various vehicles o Assist with the training of technical advancements for AA. Workshop Maintenance • Maintain the integrity of the Training Workshop: o Replenish tools, materials when needed o Update these tools and materials as needed o Maintain the 6-8 Training vehicles when necessary. Reporting • Upon completion of courses provide various feedback to TMC, TNZ departments and Dealerships. • Complete Service Managers Reports Distribute to relevant individuals • Attend overseas training for Technical and New Model information, TMC, TMCA and any other relevant training. Course Maintenance and Development Training and Development Page | 2 08/06/2016 EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS To be successful in this position and be able to make a positive difference, you will ideally have the following: Experience • Minimum 7 years' automotive industry experience; or previous experience in a technical training role Skills • • • • • Excellent oral and written communication skills Competence with Microsoft Office suite A passion for sharing knowledge and information Professional appearance and presentation Willingness to travel as required Other Requirements • • New Zealand Citizenship or New Zealand Permanent Residency Full clean New Zealand Driver’s License Page | 3
