University of California San Francisco Pharmacy Program Admission: UCSF accepts 122 students per year from around 1200 applicants. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 62 semester units with a minimum GPA of 2.8. The majority of applicants possess a Bachelor’s Degree. The average GPA for the entering class of 2014 was 3.53 with a science GPA of 3.45. Students had completed an average of 90 semester units prior to entering. Although GPA is an important factor, it is not the sole reason for acceptance. The admissions committee also considers communication skills, leadership ability, community service, health care-related or research experience and motivation for pursuing a career in pharmacy. Students must have a minimum of 68 Semester units of college level coursework. 94% of admitted students have a Bachelor’s Degree. The average GPA of those admitted is between a 3.3 and 3.5. Factors considered by UOP: course loads, strength of curriculum, grade trends, pharmacy experience, other health care related experience, extracurricular involvement, demonstrated leadership abilities, and written and oral communication skills.
