SCI Solutions PC Set Up and Plug In Instructions Loading the Plugin In order to run the Schedule Maximizer application, a plugin must be downloaded on the PC. The plugin is a small piece of software that contains some of the hard­ coded files that are required to run the application on the PC. This localization allows the system to run at a much higher speed than most web­based applications. Follow the procedure below to download the plugin for the first time. The plugin file is named “slot.ocx”. After this has been done on each PC, you will not have to repeat the process. When a user logs in and a new plugin is required due to a version upgrade, the system will prompt the user to download it and save it in the correct path. 1. 2. 3. Directions for Downloading the Plugin The user logged onto the PC must have “Administrator” security rights for the Operating System. Open your browser of choice, either Internet Explorer or Netscape. In the address field in the top section of the browser, enter the Scheduling URL for the Staging Area or Production Area with the following added to the end: installer/install.htm http://vpn.scheduling.com/sci01/hfifl0279/staging/installer/install.htm 4. The following screen will display. Click the large blue Install button on the top right side of the screen. (Do not click the link for “Click here to download the local version of the first time installer”) 5. The following “InstallShield Wizard” screen will display. Click the circle beside “I understand the security risk and wish to continue”. Click Next.

This process automatically creates a folder named “Scheduling.com” on the C Drive of the PC. This folder contains the plugin file named Slot.ocx. 10. To access the Schedule Maximizer: Open the browser of choice, either Internet Explorer or Netscape.
