The Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San José State University is located
in Silicon Valley, one of the most innovative
regions in the world. Ideally positioned
to address 21st-century challenges such as
clean energy, healthcare technologies, smart
transportation and cybersecurity, the Davidson
College of Engineering receives high rankings
among national undergraduate and graduate

more than 6,000 students are enrolled, including 2,000 graduate students, which makes
our college one of the largest engineering

ABOUT SAN JOSÉ STATE UNIVERSITY
Founded in 1857, San José State University is the oldest public higher education institution
in California. Located in Silicon Valley on 154 acres in downtown San José, the university

Freshman On-Campus Housing
Requirement
Admitted first-time freshmen who graduated
from a high school outside a 30-mile radius
of SJSU are required to live on campus for
their first year. Applications for campus
housing are accepted anytime during the year.
