What is IT-CMF?
IT-CMF (IT Capability Maturity Framework)
Driving IT Management Change
The effective management of IT has never been more challenging.
CIOs now need to mitigate new risks while ensuring the reliability
of the IT organisation’s capacity to deliver business value. The
need for IT organisations to reach higher levels of capability is
becoming increasingly urgent. CIOs need to step into the role of
business partner, delivering agile IT strategies to maintain
competitiveness. CIOs need proven tools, processes and metrics
to measure the total capability of the IT organisation to achieve a
value driven and professional approach to IT management.
About ICS Skills
ICS Skills, IVI’s exclusive education partner in
Ireland, is the training and certification body of the
Irish Computer Society (ICS). ICS is the society
for chartered IT Professionals in Ireland and has
been driving IT Professionalism for over 45 years.
The ICS has a mandate to raise awareness, and
promote any model or framework which will
enhance the contribution of IT in the Irish
marketplace and the IT-CMF is an excellent
example of this.
The IT Capability Maturity Framework (IT-CMF)
was founded by the Innovation Value Institute,
based on campus at NUI Maynooth. It is the
product of over 60,000 person hours of research
and study across a range of industries and
geographies. Its objective is to define and
measure the business value which an IT
department brings to its organisation, across a
comprehensive set of 33 critical processes.
IT Capability Maturity Framework (IT-CMF)
IT-CMF is a unique end-to-end framework that
for the first time enables a CIO to improve
capability maturity across the entire IT
organisation.
// Maps IT organisations onto a capability
maturity curve based on empirically-derived
industry best practice across 3 different
capabilities within IT management
// Provides practices, outcomes and metrics
to improve capability maturity and therefore
consistency of output
// Enables organisations to assess and
benchmark over time
// Enables creation of roadmaps with
actionable measures to improve maturity
with best practice guidelines
// Provides capability accelerators and
building blocks for improvement
