Acknowledgements

Written Acknowledgements are sent out within 10 days of receipt of a complete order.
Please check your sales order acknowledgement for accuracy.
Change Orders / Cancellations

Dfm will accommodate all reasonable requests for changes to
standard product if received in writing prior to the start of production.
•

All changes may be subject to additional charges for labor, materials and administration.
Custom orders cannot be changed or cancelled after receipt of approved draiwngs.
Invoicing

Completed products will be invoiced and payment is due per above terms.
Split orders are subject to split billing and will be invoiced as partial orders.
Invoicing is a function of product completion and is not contingent upon client facility readiness
Storage Charges
•
Dfm will store invoiced product for up to 30 days at no charge
Storage charges are 1-1/2% of the Product Net cost for each 30 days
and / or part of 30 days beyond the initial no-charge 30 days
Additional Costs
•
Services such as design, cartoning / crating, handling, delivery & installation
are not included and are chargeable.
Services include--inside delivery, carry up, overtime work (any time other than normal business hours),
disassembly, moving and disposing of existing furniture.

Product Warranty
Product Warranty
•
Dfm warrants its goods to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten years
from the date of purchase. During the warranty period, Dfm will, at its option (upon inspection
by an authorized Dfm representative) repair, replace or refund the purchase price of any product
if it is deemed to be defective in material and workmanship and is covered by this warranty.
•
Products using customer supplied materials or components
manufactured by others are not covered under Dfm warranty.
•
Wood and stone are natural materials with variations of color shade, configuration, streaks and grain structure.
Each individual piece of furniture has characteristic markings that will differentiate from photographs
or showroom samples. Due to the natural material used in manufacturing Dfm product, variations may
occur even in the architectural veneers and hardwoods. Unique characteristics inherent in some wood
and stone species are beyond the control of Dfm and are not considered a defect.
•
Dfm cannot be held liable for commercial losses, consequential damage
or other damages that may arise as a result of any defects or faults in it's product.
•
This warranty does not apply to defects or damages caused during shipment or due to improper
care, lack of maintenance or as the result of incorrect installation, any misuse or accidents.
•
A Dfm representative must authorize all returns.
Items to be returned will be shipped to the factory at the expense of Dfm.
The return shipment will be the expense of the purchaser.

Our wood furniture is inherently sustainable.
Dfm warrants your order for 10 years, but many years of use is engineered into each product.
When you replace your furniture, plan to recycle or donate it. Reuse is a key to sustainability.
Also we welcome the opportunity to work with you to reuse your furniture by
modifying or reworking it to meet new needs and requirements.
Many raw materials used at Dfm are made from recycled or reclaimed wood waste products.
All wood and chemical waste including wood dust generated at Dfm is recycled.
All local furniture deliveries use only reusable packing materials.
If cardboard is required for packing it is also recycled when no longer reusable.

The “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design” (LEED) Green Building Rating System
provides a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction (and/or tenant improvements).
There are numerous LEED’s required documents that are the responsibility of the architects
LEED’s accredited professional (worth 1 point if at least one principle participant is accredited).
All projects can benefit from resource conservation, salvaged materials, recycled content,
rapidly renewable materials and the use of third party certified wood.

All Dfm LEED Projects should be quoted as LEED projects with the appropriate requirements noted
per the following summary.

would be utilizing Dfm’s capacity to include and execute special design innovations as designed by project principles,
relative to furnishings or millwork. Any LEED credit in this category will primarily be a function of the
design and architect teams desire to pursue this additional LEED credit based upon exceptional
performance above the LEED Green Building Rating System.

Veneer

Architectural grade veneers are hand selected from our extensive inventory for consistency
of color and grain to ensure beautiful furniture. Veneers are obtained through reputable suppliers.
FSC certified veneer is available. Contact your representative for a quotation.
Book-matched or slip-matched, balanced and sequenced matched veneer across all exposed
surfaces enhance the beauty of each wood species. Wood has naturally occurring variations
of color shade, configuration and grain structure.
These individual characteristics may be different than photographs and showroom samples.
Core

All Dfm core materials meet or surpass all currently mandated government standards and specifications
FSC certified core and no added formaldehyde core is available upon request.

Our multi step process of post-catalyzed conversion varnish provides
a hard and durable surface that resists heat, cold and moisture.
This material is environmentally friendly and fully compliant with today’s strict governmental regulations.

Care and Maintenance
Wood
•
•
Our wood finish, catalyzed conversion varnish, is durable and easy to maintain.
To clean, first wipe with a damp clean soft cloth. Follow by wiping with a dry clean soft cloth.
For more stubborn marks from food or news print use mild dish soap on the damp cloth.
Always wipe with the direction of the grain.
Blot any liquids from the surface.
Lift objects to move them across the surface. Avoid sliding or pulling them.
•
You can polish with Carnauba wax to increase the luster of the finish.
•
Do not use any type of chemical polishes or cleaners. These can damage the finish.
•
When placed in direct sun, darker finishes may lighten and lighter finishes may darken.
If possible, avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight and rearrange desk top
accessories occasionally to prevent spot bleaching.
•
Some bleaching will occur under both incandescent and fluorescent lighting.
•
Although the finish will protect against liquids and hot and cold containers we recommend
using coasters and desk pads.
•
Marble is porous and will stain if left unprotected.
•
•
Dfm stone products are sealed at the factory, but staining can occur.
Use only a damp soft cloth for cleaning.
•
Food and liquid spills should be wiped up immediately with a damp, soft cloth.
Cherry veneers will darken in any light source.
Stone
Clean with warm water and a clean, soft cloth to remove any residue.

All edges are banded with solid wood for forgiving and durable tops, drawers and doors.
All cases and cabinets are doweled, glued and clamped while drying for exact and
smooth operating pedestals, files and storage.
Exceptional craft means your furniture is built for the many years of carefree use.
Tops: Hardwood edge bands at all edges.
Pedestals/ Lateral Files: Letter width pedestals are standard, 15-5/8" w.
29-1/4" lateral files are standard and provide letter front to back and legal side to side.
35-1/4" w and 42-1/4" w optional widths are available.
Box drawers include one adjustable wood divider.
Legal width is available by quotation.
Locks: Face locks are standard on all drawers.
Hinged Doors locks are an available option.
Drawer suspension : heavy duty, side mounted, full extension ball bearing drawer slides
with overtravel are used to allow full access into drawer cavity.
Drawers: Drawers sides are doweled, glue blocked and pin nailed.
All drawer interiors finished with clear catalyzed lacquer.
Drawer pulls: each standard product line includes a metal hardware pull.

Pedestal file drawers provide front to back and side to side hanging filing.
File drawers include adjustable full size dividers with the Pendaflex hanging frames incorporated
into the divider and drawer body. Files remain neatly ordered with no metal frames to order or lose.
