The new GPSMAP 7400 series are beautiful
widescreen multitouch fully networked
devices with premium mapping designed for
anyone who desires high performance and
ease of operation on the water. The combo xsv
models provide best in class sonar capabilities,
including True CHIRP, DownVü and SideVü.
The all-new echoMAP dv and sv series chartplotter/sonar combos are available with 4”,
5”, 7” and 9” displays. The dv series includes
built-in support for traditional HD-ID™ sonar
and Garmin DownVü™. The sv series also
adds SideVü™ capabilities for the clearest
scanning sonar images on the water.
With its solid-state 9-axis AHRS, the GHP
Reactor mounts anywhere, in any orientation
and requires minimal commissioning. It reacts
to the sea to hold course even when your
boat is pitching and rolling. The GHP Reactor
series offers powerboat and sailing features
in all corepacks.

The new GMR xHD2 series high-definition

All connectors are waterproof and the speed of the network is
an impressive 100 Mbit. This means you can simultaneously view
radar images, charts, soundings and other information on one or
more displays in real time without any delay.

DSC – a safer emergency call
Digital Selective Calling (DSC) is a global
protocol that uses channel 70 to transmit and
receive digital messages. VHF radios equipped
with DSC can send and receive digital emergency messages, private calls and general
calls, and let you call attention to VHF calls by
using stored MMSI numbers (Maritime Mobile
Service Identity).

By pressing the emergency button on your
handheld VHF, you activate a DSC distress call.
Your GPS position, time data and your boat’s
MMSI number are then sent digitally via
channel 70. Other vessels and land stations
can receive your emergency call and respond
immediately.
DSC significantly improves the chances of
rapid rescue.

What is CHIRP?

CHIRP is the most sophisticated sonar technology available for use by the fishing and boating
public. The word itself is an acronym for Compressed High-Intensity Radiated Pulse.

CHIRP Sonar
Standard sonar sends a single frequency at a time. Since the
only feedback is from this one single frequency, there is little
information to work with, limiting the clarity and resolution
available with standard sonar.
Instead of sending just a single frequency, CHIRP sends a
continuous sweep of frequencies ranging from low to high.
CHIRP sonar technology then interprets frequencies individually
upon their return. Since this continuous sweep of frequencies
provides CHIRP with a much wider range of information, CHIRP
sonar is able to create a much clearer, higher resolution image.

The 12-sailboat fleet of 70-foot Clipper 70s for the Clipper 2015-16 rounds of the World Yacht
Races will be equipped with complete systems of our intuitive, robust navigational electronics
for their year-long race circumnavigating the globe. We were selected by Clipper Ventures as
the official supplier for the Clipper 70s following a thorough selection process involving several
manufacturers of marine electronics.
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is the only event of its type. Anyone can join the
adventure and sail the world in an eleven month-long racing marathon. Considering that they
will sail 15 races covering 40,000-miles of circumnavigation and touch 13 countries to crown the
winner, the navigational electronics had better be top notch. And we’re sure they are.
Of course, you’ll probably never subject your boat to such a grueling ordeal where you absolutely
had to trust the reliability and accuracy of your marine electronics. But wouldn’t it be nice to
know you could?
