Surge Reduction Filters
Hakel’s comprehensive range of HKSF series arresters incorporating two port devices with built-in
primary and secondary protection complete with surge reduction filter provides massive energy diversion
and voltage clamping with stable and precise filtering features. These arresters should be installed prior
to the sensitive equipment to be protected, virtually guaranteeing overvoltage protection against lightning
surge which is the main cause of damage to sensitive and critical equipment such as advanced medical
equipment and telecommunication equipment.
Hakel HKSF series arrester encompasses 32A up to 200A for single phase and three phase.

Hakel HKSF high surge rating series arresters are suitable for highly exposed areas.

Surge and Abnormal Voltage Protection
Primary protection is provided by the high current rating (KA) varistor which is incorporated with
mechanical fault indication. Secondary and N-E protection are also provided in this design. Wide range
of voltages for primary protection manifested in our SPC3 series cater for abnormal voltage variation that
can occur at site. This fault is normally due to voltage regulation or wiring fault such as open neutral.
The primary and secondary protection cover nominal voltage of 220V~240V with 280V maximum
voltage variation and a
higher voltage range ensure protection against
abnormal voltage up to 480V.

Operation Status
Hakel HKSF series arrester provides detailed
operational status for primary and secondary
protection as well as power supply. This alerts
the user of any presence of damage or defective
arrester. The alarm can be deactivated with a
latched switch.
Filtering
Hakel HKSF series arresters provide extreme
suppression of voltage levels of high energetic
impulses which come into the protected equipment from the L.V. power distribution side.
The combination also ensures an attenuation of high frequency noise levels of a minimum 50dB at 5MHz
in the band of 0.1 to 30MHz.
