Application and End Uses
Scotchcal™ Translucent Film Series 3630 is
intended for making permanent, durable graphics
when used with the listed compatible products and
in the following applications. Any other application
is NOT warranted by 3M or covered by the
worldwide 3M™ MCS™ (Matched Component
System) Warranty unless 3M gives its prior written
approval for the application.

For interior or exterior use on:
- The listed compatible substrates
- Internally illuminated sign faces
- Internally illuminated awnings protected by
3M™ Scotchcal™ Overlaminate Film 3640
GPS or 3642 GPS.

For first surface application to 3M™
Panaflex™ Awning & Sign Facing 945 GPS
substrate and 3M™ Panaflex™ Enhanced
Image Sign Facing 645 EI substrate.
For thermoforming with rigid plastic surfaces
under well-controlled conditions as described
in Instruction Bulletin 5.16.

use in fabricating graphics for automotive

A third layer of film on any one surface is warranted
only if the top layer is 3M™ Scotchcal™ Transparent

Effective Performance Life

throughout Europe. Substrate selection and
preparation, maintenance of the marking and
exposure conditions will determine actual
performance.
The film’s warranted period will vary, depending
on which substrate the film is applied to. The
following matrix indicates the films intended use.

Vacuum Forming
Values given are typical and are not for use in
specifications. If a custom specification is desired, a
request should be submitted through your sales
representative. The data given below is for unprinted
film.
Special recommendation, limitations and
processing requirement for forming with applied
films is detailed in Instruction Bulletin 5.16. There
are specific unique healths and safety
considerations that must be understood prior to
vacuum forming faces using translucent films. Prior
to forming faces, it is important to review all
information contained in the Material Safety Data
Sheet (MSDS), on the box label and in the
instruction bulletins.

Application
These films may be applied using either the
detergent / water or dry application methods (hand
application or roll applicator). For hand
applications, the detergent / water application
method is preferred. Use of dry application by hand
may leave some dark streaks or bubbles that could
be visible in transmitted light.
Shelf Life, Storage, Shipping
and Maintenance
The shelf life of the film is 2 years and should be
applied within 2 years of the receipt of film if
unprocessed. Processed film should be applied
within 1 year of processing and within 2 years of
receipt of the film.
