CYCLING
The University provides large numbers of
sheffield/hoop stands for cyclists in key
locations across both campuses and
provides designated routes on south
campus. For detailed information on
cycling and routes, as well as a journey
planner go to: www.tfgm.com/cycling
WALKING
Pedestrians are catered for with
designated campus routes and much of
Manchester is relatively easy to get around
on foot. For example, 2 mins from
Piccadilly Rail to north campus or 20/25
mins to south campus. To plan your
walking route go to:

CAR
For sat nav or to plan your route by car, use
the postcodes M1 3BB for north campus
and M13 9PL for south campus.
The University has several car parks with
varying access restrictions and charges.

M62 (Eastbound), M602
Leave the M62 at J12 and join the M602.
At the end of M602, join Regent Road
(A57) and continue along and join the
A57M (Mancunian Way). Leave at the
second exit sign-posted A34 Congleton
(hair-pin bend) and keep left, following
signs for the Universities. Turn left onto
the A34 (dual carriageway) and get in the
right hand lane. Turn right at the first set
of traffic lights into Grosvenor Street. Stay
in the left hand lane and turn left at the
next set of traffic lights onto Oxford Road
(B5117). Go straight on through the next
set of traffic lights. The University’s Visitors
Centre is in the distinctive round building
on the left-hand side.
M62 (Westbound), M60
Leave M62 at J18 and join M60 ring road.
Leave M60 at J22 and turn right at traffic
lights onto Oldham Road (A62). Continue
along until the end and turn left to join
Great Ancoats Street (A665). Follow signs
for the Universities and join the Mancunian
Way (A57M). Leave at the second exit onto
Higher Cambridge Street. Turn left at the
next set of traffic lights onto Booth Street
West and then turn right onto Oxford Road
(B5117). The University’s Visitors Centre is
in the distinctive round building on the
left-hand side.

M6/M56
FROM THE AIRPORT
Leave the M6 at Junction 19 and turn
right onto the A556. Follow signs for
Manchester Airport and join the M56. Stay
on M56 until it joins Princess Parkway
(A5103). Continue for a further four miles
before turning right at the Royal Brewery
into Moss Lane East (B5219). Continue to
the T-junction and turn left onto Oxford
Road (B5117). Proceed down Oxford Road
past the hospitals. The University’s Visitors
Centre is in the distinctive round building
on the right-hand side.
From M67
At the end of the motorway, join Hyde Road
(A57). Continue along for approximately
Manchester airport is approximately 10
miles south of the University. There are
frequent trains to Manchester, see
www.nationalrail.co.uk
The 43 and 44 bus services also run from
the airport to the University see

change of buses is usually required,
normally at Piccadilly.
From Piccadilly Bus Station to south
campus, buses include the 15, 16, 16A, 42,
42A, 43, 44, 111, 142, 143, 157 and 250.
From Piccadilly Bus Station to Victoria Park
and Fallowfield via Upper Brook Street,
buses 50 and 130.

Piccadilly Station is a 2 minute walk from
north campus and is linked to south
campus by the Oxford Road Link (147 bus)
shuttle bus which runs every 10 minutes,
Mon – Fri, from Stop D, Fairfield Street

Oxford Road Station is within 10/15min
walking distance of both the north and
south campuses. The route between the
station and the south campus is also
served by a vast number of buses (see
below)
Victoria Station is located on the north
side of the city and the University can be
