The English Language Arts (ELA) Content Team is responsible for the creation of all ELA test materials, products, and services for the Assessment Division of the American Institutes for Research (AIR). The Division works with a number of state agencies and consortiums to meet their educational measurement, professional development, and public outreach needs. Responsibilities: The Senior Test Development Specialist for English Language Arts will lead state assessment projects and tasks that include the development and management of ELA Assessment programs. Responsibilities include developing pool production plans; managing the review, revision, and delivery of ELA test items; ensuring item quality; leading a team of ELA Test Developers and providing professional development and support for all team members; leading internal and external meetings with AIR review teams and clients; and collaborating with AIR technical and operations staff. Qualifications: Qualified candidates will hold an advanced degree, preferably in English and Language Arts Education and have strong knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education and Education Assessment system. Progressive experience managing ELA item development functions within an education assessment environment is required. Previous experience teaching English Language Arts (grades 4-8) is preferred and experience with alternate assessment is a plus.
