Announcing Viking Sun, the newest addition to our award-winning fleet
Dear Traveler,
Five continents, 35 countries, 66 ports, 12 overnights, 141 days. It all adds up to one incomparable experience
that I am excited to announce: Viking’s first-ever World Cruise.
On December 15, 2017, the newest oceangoing vessel in our award-winning fleet, Viking Sun®,
will celebrate her maiden season in the most spectacular way: by cruising around the world
from Miami to London.
On one single voyage you will accomplish more travel milestones than most people achieve in a lifetime.
Be among the first Americans in decades to cruise to Havana, Cuba. Cross the “path between the seas,” the
Panama Canal. Discover sun-kissed South Pacific islands. Call at Pacific ports from Sydney to Singapore,
Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City. Explore ports along the Arabian, Red, and Mediterranean Seas before your
itinerary concludes in London. To enhance your journey, you will enjoy an included excursion in every port;
our Local Life, Working World and Privileged Access experiences; and our onboard Culture Curriculum®
enrichment program.
Though your itinerary is grand, your experience will be personal thanks to the intimacy of Viking Sun, which
accommodates just 930 guests. Like her award-winning sister ships, Viking Sun will deliver the most relaxed,
refined experience at sea.
We understand that joining this journey represents an investment of time as well as money. In appreciation
of that, your World Cruise voyage includes Business Class air, all gratuities and service fees, our Silver Spirits
beverage package including virtually all drinks on board, free Wi-Fi, laundry service, and more all outlined
inside. Plus, when you book by May 31, 2016, you will also receive a $2,000 shipboard credit; $750 spa
services credit; and $750 onboard shop credit.
This represents a value of more than $22,500 for each guest — an impressive amount, but so is the number of
travelers already interested in our World Cruise. This voyage offers a world of infinite possibilities, but space is
limited and there is only one sailing. Call your Travel Agent or a Viking Expert at 1-888-850-6260 to reserve now.
We look forward to sharing our world with you.
Sincerely,
Torstein Hagen
Chairman

it opened in 1914, the Panama Canal
was hailed as one of the world’s great
engineering feats. Forty-eight miles long,
it links the Atlantic and Pacific at the
narrowest stretch of the Isthmus of
Panama, cutting thousands of miles off
shipping routes. Crossing this manmade
wonder, your ship will be raised and
lowered through enormous locks at each
end and you’ll enjoy a scenic cruise on
the 21-mile-long Gatun Lake.
One of the world’s most visually stunning
and romantic destinations, Tahiti is the
cultural hub of French Polynesia. Its dramatic
mountains skirted with swaying palms strike
a breathtaking pose in shimmering Pacific
waters. An overnight stay in Papeete’s port
lets you immerse yourself in its continental
flavor. Admire the Cathedral of Notre Dame
and browse the fascinating Paul Gauguin
Museum, a rich collection of the work he
created while living on the islands.

HAVANA’S AUTHENTIC OLD TOWN.
Long isolated from visitors, Cuba’s culture
is among the most unspoiled in the world.
In the mid 20th century, Havana was home
to luxury resorts and casinos that attracted
the likes of Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor.
Today, the city seems frozen in time, its
streets a fascinating blend of old-world
architecture and 1950s Chevrolets and Fords.
With an overnight stay in Cuba’s capital,
you will have time to immerse yourself in

Cuban culture and learn about its music,
arts scene and architecture. Time in Cuba
involves full days spent engaging in authentic
experiences with the Cuban people — from
hearing a local jazz ensemble to visiting an
artist’s studio. Together, you’ll explore the
city’s neoclassical, baroque and colonial
architecture that graces the atmospheric
Plaza de Armas, Plaza de la Cathedral and
other squares. Stroll the Avenida de los
Presidentes and the Malecón waterfront.

Known as New Zealand’s “City of Sails,”
Auckland enjoys a stunning setting

America’s Cup challenges, its marinas

During an overnight stay here, you will
have ample time to take in this Kiwi city’s
beauty and history, perhaps touring the
tree-lined Albert Park and the neoclassical
Auckland War Memorial Museum.
OLD AND NEW. One of the world’s most
important ports, Shanghai is a modern
metropolis and center of finance. It orbits
around its famous and historic Bund,
the city’s elegant riverfront promenade
overlooked by colonial-era banks and trading
houses. Old Shanghai retains the narrow
lanes and street markets of times past.
An overnight stay allows time to stroll the
inviting grounds of the dynastic Yuyuan
Garden and browse the excellent collection
of the renowned Shanghai Museum.

Spread across 63 islands at the tip of the
Malay Peninsula, Singapore is the world’s
only island city-state. The city was established
in 1819 for the East India Company by
Sir Stamford Raffles, after whom the city’s
famed hotel is named. The technology and

SYDNEY. CULTURAL CAPITAL OF “OZ.”
Celebrated for its magnificent natural

founded as a penal colony in 1788.
Since then, it has grown from a colonial

will experience firsthand the all-embracing
welcome of Sydneysiders and one of the
most free-spirited cities in the world.

of history can be peeled back on Malta,
where a long succession of powers shaped
the island’s cityscapes and culture. Since
Malta was an ideal crossroads for trade
between Africa and Europe, the island
gained tremendous wealth, and a mighty
naval force emerged. Take in the medieval
ambience of Valletta and Mdina, and
let yourself be seduced by a stunning
coast dotted with luzzu fishing boats,
blue grottoes and sweeping bays.
The celebrated historic Royal Borough of
Greenwich — part of which, Maritime
Greenwich, is a UNESCO Site—is our gateway
to London, the regal capital straddling the
Thames. Old and new merge seamlessly here,
from the Tower of London to the London Eye
Ferris wheel. Today, London is one of Europe’s
great cultural centers; its history and politics
come together at sites like the Parliament and
Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham
Palace and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

THE THINKING PER SON’S CRUISE
Created for discerning travelers like you, with true explorer spirits
WE ALL TRAVEL TO EXPLORE, TO LEARN, TO UNDERSTAND. At Viking, we believe travel
should be more than just a trip — it should be a doorway to cultural insight and personal enrichment.
That’s why our cruise itineraries are designed to help you explore the most intimate nuances of
your destination: its food, culture, countryside and customs.
BEFORE you travel, we provide you with material to help you plan and anticipate your journey,
from filmographies that inspire wanderlust to recommended reading that informs and enlightens.
ASHORE, you might accompany the ship’s chef on a visit to a local market; step behind the
scenes at a famous theater company; tour a chocolate or car factory; or view private collections
and hidden vaults at world-class museums.
ONBOARD activities are also designed for the thinking traveler seeking enrichment and renewal.
Instead of casinos and water slides, we offer world-class lectures on history and art, tastings
of vintage wines from your destinations, restaurant menus inspired by local cuisine and other
opportunities to share your region’s culture with like-minded travelers.
CONNECT with fellow travelers aboard our ships, designed with a comfortable intimacy to encourage
lifelong friendships and an ease of discovery that larger ships cannot offer. By journey’s end, our
aim is to help you feel more connected — to your newfound friends and your destinations.

THE SM ALL SHIP EXPERTS
Enjoy more time in the world’s most enriching ports
AS THE LEADER OF THE RIVER CRUISE INDUSTRY for nearly two decades, we refined the
small ship sailing experience for our guests. We’ve taken that same destination-focused approach
that has made our river cruises so popular and applied it to the seas, redefining ocean cruising,
as the elegant Viking Sun sails around the world during her exciting inaugural season. And
because we own and operate our ships, we deliver a seamless, consistent experience, from the
Caribbean to the Mediterranean.
SAIL INTO THE HEART OF YOUR DESTINATION on Viking Sun, so you can explore up close
and in depth. The size of your vessel — with just 930 guests — gives us greater maneuverability,
allowing us to dock where the mega-liners that dominate the world’s ports today cannot. From
our prime, central berths in the world great cities such as Sydney, Shanghai and London and in
seldom-visited ports like Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei and Komodo, Indonesia, enriching cultural
discoveries are just a short walk from your ship.
Further, we design our itineraries to allow you to spend more time in port, with overnight stays in
the world’s most fascinating cultural capitals, from Havana, Cuba to the island city-state Singapore.
With fewer days at sea, you will have ample time to immerse yourself fully in each destination.
No other cruise line brings you so close to your destination’s doorstep. And no one else helps you
uncover so much about a culture and its beauty while you’re there.
“Overall, the general ambience brings to mind
a boutique hotel that emphasizes design but
not at the expense of comfort.”
– Carolyn Spencer Brown, Editor in Chief, Cruise Critic
“Viking has taken the best elements of its river
cruise product & brought them to the high seas.”
– Sherri Eisenberg, Yahoo! Travel

SER ENE SCANDINAVIAN SPACES
Every room a living room
EXPAND YOUR HORIZONS on elegant, intimate Viking Sun, thoughtfully designed by experienced
nautical architects and designers to help you connect with your destination in every way.
When we set out to reinvent the ocean cruise, we reimagined our ships completely — from
the inside out—with graceful rooms designed for your comfort and serenity. We have no casino;
instead we created open, light-filled spaces to inspire and refresh you along your journey.
We’ve designed our ships down to the most minute detail — from the serene Wintergarden,
perfect for a calming cup of tea; to our Scandinavian-inspired Spa, a Nordic sanctuary of wellness;
to the Explorers’ Lounge, where you can share your latest adventures with fellow travelers as you
take in spectacular approaches to Sydney Harbor or marvel at the workings of the Panama Canal.
ART, LITERATURE AND HERITAGE INFUSE YOUR EVERY MOMENT. Our elegant spaces are
complemented by a thoughtfully curated onboard collection of art, literature and vestiges of
history. Peruse classic and contemporary paintings, sculptures and photographs by esteemed
Scandinavian artists. Admire the richly textured Bayeux Tapestry. In our Library, select from a
broad range of titles, covering the literary spectrum from history to architecture. And visit the
Viking Heritage exhibit to browse replicas of tools and clothing from the Viking Age — even
test if you have Viking DNA.
One of the “most luxurious and design-forward
vessels sailing today.”

a pool and spa: We’ve re-created the Scandinavian bathing ritual with an elegant touch, resulting

with stunning views. Alternately, enjoy the perfect swim in any weather under the Main Pool’s
retractable roof. At The Spa, treat yourself to holistic wellness. As our guest, renew your body
and spirit in our complimentary hot sauna or thermal pool, then step into our Snow Grotto, a
sanctuary of gentle snowfall and chilled air. If you wish, you may indulge in a soothing massage,
facial or other treatment from LivNordic, Scandinavia’s leading spa, right on board. It’s the ideal

FR EQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As you start planning your World Cruise you may want to know more details, so below are
answers to some questions that guests typically ask. If you do not see the information that
you need here, you can also visit the My Trip section of our website at vikingoceancruises.com,
contact your Travel Agent or call Viking toll-free at 1-888-850-6260.
I’ve been told that I need to complete a Guest Information Form. What is that, and how do I take care of it?
The Guest Information Form is a critical form Viking needs on file before you travel. It enables us to create your reservation,
produce travel documents and make any airline reservations. You should complete a Guest Information Form for each
person traveling in your party as soon as you can. You can fill out the form by visiting myvikingjourney.com.

Do I need travel protection? While travel protection is not required, we do recommend it. Emergencies sometimes
arise, and you want to protect your travel investment. You may purchase it on your own, or Viking offers a cancel-forany-reason policy available up to 10 days before departure. See next page.
Is there a dress code? During the day on board and ashore, dress is casual including shorts, jeans and comfortable
shoes for walking tours. Swimsuits, brief shorts, cover-ups and exercise attire should be reserved for the pool and
Sports Deck. For evenings, while there are no “formal nights,” the recommended dress is elegant casual for most
restaurants, performances or other special events. Suggested attire for ladies includes a dress, or a sweater or
blouse worn with a skirt or slacks; for gentlemen, trousers and a collared shirt. A tie and jacket are optional, but not
required. Dinner in the The Restaurant remains casual, with daytime dress deemed appropriate.
Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions? In most cases we can. Every meal has vegetarian options and
our chefs will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests. Guests requiring special diets (low-salt, diabetic,
gluten-free and low cholesterol) should alert us 90 days prior to departure and inform the Maître d’ when on board.
Is the ship non-smoking? All Viking ship interiors, staterooms and balconies are nonsmoking except for the designated
outdoor smoking area on the starboard side of Deck 8. Smoking restrictions also apply to e-cigarettes.
What is the e-check program? Viking offers savings when you pay via e-check (an electronic debit
to your checking account); a quick, convenient way to pay for your trip that is as easy as providing
your credit card number. Ask for details when you book.
Do I need a passport and/or visa to travel with Viking? Passports valid for at least six months following your visit
are required for all international travel. If you need to renew your passport, contact the National Passport Information
Center (NPIC) at travel.state.gov.
For visa information, all guests including non-US citizens and green card holders should seek advice from their respective
embassy, consulate or Travel Agent to determine which documents are needed prior to departure. Should you require a
visa for your journey, please be aware that each country/embassy/consulate sets its own policies regarding their issue,
so allow ample time for processing. Be sure to obtain and carefully review for accuracy all your required documents
prior to departure to avoid delays, denied boarding/entry or additional cost.
Please Note: Pre-Existing Conditions exclusion is waived if this Travel Protection Plan is purchased within 14 days of the initial trip deposit or added
within 14 days of final payment when full trip payment is required at time of booking. Travel vouchers issued cannot be applied to multiple bookings.
The Travel Arrangement Protection Benefits of Part A are provided by Viking Cruises. For New York Residents Only: 1) Part A Benefits are insurance
benefits underwritten by Arch Insurance Company; and 2) The Cancel-For-Any-Reason Waiver Benefit is not insurance and is provided by Viking
Cruises and may be purchased separately without purchase of the Travel Protection Plan.
The Part B Travel Insurance Benefits are underwritten by: Arch Company, Jersey City, N.J. and all Plan Benefits are administered by:
Trip Mate, Inc. (in CA, dba Trip Mate Insurance Agency).
Benefits are described on a general basis only. There are certain restrictions, exclusions and limitations that apply to all coverages and services. This
advertisement does not constitute or form any part of the Plan Description or any other contract of any kind. Plan benefits, limits, and provisions
may vary by state jurisdiction. Please note: In the event of a trip cancellation or cancel-for-any-reason claim, the cost of the Travel Protection Plan is
not a refundable expense. To review full plan details online, go to: www.tripmate.com/wpA425V.
Pricing Notes: On all sail dates the discount is per stateroom based on double occupancy. Single supplement savings are off applicable rates. Cruise
fares listed are cruise only in US dollars, per person, based on double occupancy. Cruise fares listed are valid for US residents only. Cruise ship fuel
surcharge may apply. All fares and offers are for new bookings only as of April 25, 2016, are subject to availability, may not be combinable with other
offers except Viking Explorer Society Member Travel Credit and Referral Rewards Credit, are capacity controlled and may be withdrawn at any time
without prior notice. Fares are based upon published full brochure fares; all cruise fares are cruise only, and do not include pre-paid charges, optional
facilities and service fees, and personal charges, as defined in the terms and conditions of the Passenger Ticket Contract which may be viewed at
vikingoceancruises.com. Full brochure fares may not have resulted in actual sales in all stateroom categories and may not have been in effect during
the last 90 days. Promotional fares may remain in effect after the expiration date. Air promotion applies to roundtrip flights only from select Viking
Cruises North American gateways and includes airport-to-ship or hotel transfers, air taxes and air fuel surcharges. Explore More pricing is based on
extension hotel check-in date. Viking reserves the right to correct errors or omissions and to change any and all fares, fees and surcharges at any
time. For up-to-date prices, please call Viking at 1-888-850-6260. The cruise ship fuel surcharge is additional revenue to Viking Cruises, as does
any additional charge relating to currency fluctuation other than for fully paid cruise fares and full fares, which fluctuations are beyond our control.
Additional terms and conditions may apply. Complete terms and conditions may be found in the Passenger Ticket Contract at vikingoceancruises.com.
International Airfare: Air prices are per person based on the cruise or cruisetour check-in date, and include transfers plus all government taxes
and fees of approximately $160 and air fuel surcharges. Paid Business or Premium Economy Class may require travel in economy on flights within
the United States, Europe or Asia. Premium Economy is limited to specific airlines and we may not be able to accommodate based on aircraft type
and availability. Air seats are limited; airfares are subject to change until full payment of air is received. Roundtrip airport transfers are included
when air is purchased with a cruise or cruisetour package; if air is not purchased from Viking, transfers may be purchased separately. All transfers
must be in conjunction with a Viking-purchased cruise, cruisetour, land extension or extra hotel nights. Additional airline imposed baggage charges
may apply; consult your airline. Additional gateways are available; visit our website or call 1-888-850-6260 for current prices. Additional terms and
conditions may be viewed at vikingoceancruises.com.
Note: World Cruise Value Offer with included benefits expires May 31, 2016. Combinable with Referral Rewards and Viking Explorer Society Member
Travel Credits. Additional restrictions may apply. A deposit of 20% is due at time of booking; pay in full at 180 days prior to departure.
Cancellation Policy: For any cruise/land booking, whether under
deposit, partially paid, or paid in full and air-inclusive packages paid
in full, the following travel agent or guest-requested situations are
considered cancellations and penalties will apply as noted below:
changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary; substitution of
another person for original booked guest(s); or changing to a promotional
fare. All cancellations must be in writing. For all air-inclusive packages
cancelled after issuance of an airline ticket, the air portion of the refund,
if any, will be processed only after the return of airline ticket to Viking.
The following cancellation charges will be assessed for all written
cancellations received prior to departure up to the scheduled time of
departure.
