Trailer pump as per the Technical specification below for fire service section of Marine Department. The work involves to cater the fire inside and outside the port premises and/or standby at West fire station. THE OFFER TO BE SENT TO THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS ON OR BEFORE 08.07.2013 The Chief Mechanical Engineer, Chennai Port Trust, 7th Floor of Centenary Building, Rajaji Salai, Chennai – 600 001. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR PROCUREMENT OF FIRE PUMP Diesel Engine driven Trailer Fire Pump of capacity 6000 LPM at 7.0 kg/cm2 pressure (70 meters head), conforming to IS: 944-1979 or latest. The details of the Centrifugal Pump, Engine, Trailer Chassis, Towing Eye, Workmanship and finish etc., should be as per special detailed below:TRAILER FIRE PUMP 1.1 The Trailer Fire Pump should consist of a Centrifugal Pump of capacity 6000 LPM at 7 Kg/cm2 driven by diesel engine with 100 mm (4”) round threaded male suction and 2 x 63 mm (2-1/2”) instantaneous female delivery outlet. The combined unit should be mounted on a trailer with the centrifugal pump at the rear and should be capable of being towed by a vehicle. The overall dimensions of the complete unit, material of construction of trailer chassis frame, axle pump casing, impeller ring and impeller neck ring, pump shaft, engine cover and Pump Panel etc., should be conformed to IS: 944-1979 or latest. 2 1.2 ENGINE: 1.2.1 Diesel driven Engine should be fitted as prime mover. The Engine should have sufficient power to work with the Pump at its rated output and pressure and should have sufficient reserve power. It is to be provided with a Generator / Alternator for charging 12 Volt battery with a capacity of 92 AH at 10 Hr. rate. 1.2.2 The Engine should be fitted with electrical self starter as well as hand cranking arrangement at a easily accessible position. A good quality 12 volt battery of capacity 92 AH at 10 Hr. rate should be fitted. 1.2.3 Open Circuit indirect cooling system of air cooled system should be provided to the Engine to keep the Engine temperature within the safe range. The Header tank for cooling should incorporate copper coils, the discharge of water to waste should not exceed 30 lts/min. 1.3 FUEL SYSTEM A fuel tank of adequate capacity for a minimum continuous run of 4 Hrs. without refueling and a graduated dip-stick should be provided. A Mechanical Fuel pump with a drain plug should also be provided. 1.4 PUMP 1.4.1 Pump should be a single stage Centrifugal type capacity 1800 lts/min at 70 meters head. A suitable type gland packing should be provided. There should be a drain plug at the bottom of the volute casing. 1.4.2 There should be a 100mm round threaded male suction eye, with suitable strainer and blank cap. Six numbers 63 mm instantaneous female delivery with suitable screw down type valves and blank cap should also be provided with the pump. 1.4.3. The pump should be fitted with automatic primer (Reciprocating type) and should be capable of lifting water at the rate of 30 cm/sec. at NTP. 1.4.4. While testing the pump allowance for output and lift will be as per Clause 4.3.3. of IS: 944-1979. 3 1.5 TRANSMISSION The assemble of pump and engine should be as compact as possible and should be mounted on anti-vibration mounting so as to reduce vibration minimum. 1.6 PRIMER The Trailer Chassis should be fabricated out of M.S. rolled steel channel sections and to be fitted with square axle. Suitable leaf spring and shock absorbers for suspension shall be provided. Chassis is to be fitted with towing hook suitable to be towed with ISI type towing hitch. It is also to be providing with one pair of folding pull type handles. For holding the Chassis in horizontal position, it is to be provided with adjustable jack legs two in the rear and one in the front. The jack legs should be capable of being positively locked in the house position. The Chassis is to be fitted with hand brake-cum-over ruin breaking system. 1.7 The Trailer, should not tilt backward when resting on front leg. No part of the trailer should have as clearance less than 23 cm when the trailer is tilted so as to raise the height of the eye 65 cm or to lower it to 45 cm. 1.8 Boxes with locking arrangement are to be fabricated with sufficient space to accommodate 4 Nos. of Delivery Hoses, Foam Generator, two branches (one foam & one water) suction spanner etc. It should also be fitted with brackets for carrying two lengths of suction hose in 4.5 metres lengths. 1.9 2 Nos. Pneumatic tyres (6-16-6 ply)and suitable type tube should be fitted. 2.0 CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTS The Control Panel should include the following: (a) (b) Ignition Switch Throttle Control 4 (c) (d) (e) Ammeter Choke for Petrol Engine Guages (all gauges should be of liquid filled type) Compound gauge caliberated as follows: (i) (ii) (iii) (f) (g) (h) (i) 2.1 Vacuum – 0 to 75 cm Hg. Pressure – 0 to 5 kg/cm2 Pressure gauge (on delivery) – 0 to 16 kg/ cm2 Temperature gauge Oil pressure gauge Pump and pump panel light Fuel content gauge WORKMANSHIP AND FINISH 2.1.1. The Trailer Fire Pump should be painted ‘FIRE RED’ on the outside. 2.1.2. The stability of the appliance, total wt. (without equipments), Towing eye abd drawbar arrangement should be as per IS-944-1979 or latest. 2.2 MARKING The Trailer Pump should be clearly and permanently marked with the following information: (a) (b) (c) Manufacturer’s Name and Trademark The output capacity of the pump in lts/min. Year of manufacture ACCESSORIES (To be provided with each appliance) (a) Electric tail-light with number plate. (b) A tool kit for normal maintenance of the appliance (c) One headlight on the Trailer Pump (d) Leather hand tool bag-1 No. (e) Grease Gun-1No. (f) Hard Suction hose (4.5 mts length each) with round threaded male and female coupling on both sides -2 Nos. (the couplings should be fitted by wire windings to make it leak proof). IV) OTHER CONDITIONS: As the areas / roads of the Port may have spillages of coal, chemicals and fertilizers etc., the tenderer should visit the site for inspection prior to submission of Budgetary offer. 5 The tenderer shall not sub-let the contract. V) INTEGRITY: The bidders shall give an undertaking that they have not made any payment or illegal gratification to any person / authority connected with the bid process so as to influence the bid process and have not committed any offence under the PC Act in connection with the bid. The bidders shall disclose any payments made or proposed to be made to any intermediaries (Agents etc.) in connection with the bid. VI) RATES AND TAXES: The rate quoted shall include all Taxes and other duties shall be mentioned separately. In case Government imposes any additional levies or taxes on this service during the contract period, the same will be reimbursed only on production of documentary evidence.
