When It All Started
The vision was to use modern communication tools to bring the
message of our Lord Jesus Christ to the people of Thailand. It all started
with radio broadcasting then graduating to the use of audio cassette
and now, television, video and internet.
From its humble beginning with a mobile studio in a Volkswagon
van, Voice of Peace has grown into a modern communication center
with 5 audio studios, an excellent television studio, training facilities,
and a variety of other ministries. Voice of Peace has been serving the
churches in Thailand and abroad for more than 46 years and come
2015, we will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The vision remains the
same. We want to see the people in Thailand and surrounding nations
experience the joy and peace of Jesus.
And, it is this message that is central to the Voice of Peace ministry
through radio, television, print and internet. We hope to continue to
be a modern and innovative Christian Multimedia Center that will be a
blessing to Thailand and beyond.

Solving Drug Problems in Hill Tribe Villages
Through Mass Media
In 2010, Voice of Peace joined the Royal Project of the Thai Government to solve drug problems in the
tribal villages. While the government provides staff who are experts in specific areas, VOP uses a variety of
media to help villagers understand their problems, and as a result, many villages have realized the dangers
of using drugs. This is a 3 - year project, which is financially supported by the Thai government. It seeks to
help people in villages find new ways to make a living instead of selling drugs.
The project works closely with churches in the area, and there is extensive coordination with women’s
groups, village leaders and youth groups. The project covers a total of 31 villages in the Omkoi district of
Chiang Mai. As a result of the project, (1) village people understand the problems of cultivating and using
opium, (2) Christians provide spiritual insights and help solve community and family problems, (3) a group
of 15 volunteers are formed in each village to support and coordinate activities, and (4) new youth groups
are formed in the area.

A Voice Across
the Country
Broadcasting Station
Community Station
The first thing that comes to mind when people in Thailand hear of “Voice
of Peace” is radio. The content of the programs include topics for children,
youth, older people, and for building them up in the Christian faith.
Broadcasting on Thai government stations: Voice of Peace continues
to broadcast through government stations. A total of 17 such stations
were used in 2010, and on most stations it is a 30 minute daily program.
Airtime is paid on eight stations while free air-time is made available
on the rest.
Local radio stations: A growing number of local radio stations, usually
operated by local churches, are using Voice of Peace programs. The
local stations download Voice of Peace programs from the internet for
their local broadcasting. At present, 52 stations are using our programs.
Voice of Peace local radio: VOP operates a local radio station from
its facilities in Chiang Mai. The station is on air from 7.00 am to 10.00
pm and covers an area with approximately 10 km radius. A committee
consisting of local leaders and church leaders are responsible.
Online radio: Voice of Peace has two online radio channels. One is a
music channel and the other broadcasts the local station programs. In
this way, VOP reaches audiences all over the world.
“Hi, I am a guard working near a
church. I listen to your programs
regularly because it is interesting.
Thank you for answering my
letters and questions about
God. At first I was afraid to go to
church but your encouragement
made me do so, and now I have
accepted Christ. It is so wonderful
to be a part of God’s family. Thank
you for everything.” from a listener
in Bangkok
Radio Ministry is led by Karun, coordinator
for the radio ministry.
Nontouch produces radio programs for
youth and oversees Voice of Peace local
radio station in Chiang Mai.
Though the programs are produced in studios, we are confident that the
Lord’s invisible hand is always at work, transforming the hearts of listeners.
In 2010, 352 people indicated that they have accepted Christ as a result of
Voice of Peace radio programs. We hope and pray that this ministry will
continue to open doors for more people to hear the Gospel.

The Voice to Connect
“I am a prisoner, sentenced to death and I’m just waiting for that
date. I was so afraid, but after reading your bible correspondence
lessons through another prisoner friend, I decided to accept Christ.
I learned how to pray, and give my burden to God. Now I am happy
and ready to be with the Lord anytime...”
from a correspondence course student in Chiang Mai
Voice of Peace meets with listeners at Watanatham Church in Chiang Rai.
In 2010, we received responses from 10,947 listeners. The Correspondence and FollowUp Department had another fruitful year in encouraging VOP listeners and bible
correspondence students to grow in the way of God. We have also visited listeners in
different places in Thailand, and have been inspired to see that the letters and print
materials we sent, have strengthened the listeners’ faith in God. In 2011, we would visit
and follow up on more listeners while using more telecommunication tools like phone,
e-mail and Facebook.

purpose is to explain the Christian message to the people in Thailand.
The format of the program includes a drama in a local setting, teaching
with Scriptural references, and Christian music video. Broadcasting
started on three regional television stations. Stations in Central and
South Thailand will be added in 2011.

“One day, as I was lying on
my bed, I swtiched on the tv

Reaching Out From the
Back to the World
VOICE Online
www.voiceofpeace.org gives access to all who wish to listen to Voice of Peace local radio program, and radio or television
programs that have already been broadcasted. The programs are available online and can be downloaded and distributed
free of charge.
In the future, we hope that Voice of Peace’s website will be one of the main Thai Christian media and resource centers, that will
meet the needs of churches and radio stations worldwide.
“Thank you for the worship
songs you share online every
day. These songs have helped
me become stronger in Christ.
Almost every song has spoken
very strongly to my heart, and
sometimes they even hurt
me, but in the end they have
helped me love God more, and
draw closer to Him.”
from an online listener
Technical Team
Each time we hear of how VOP media has impacted
someone’s life and brought a new person to Christ,
we are encouraged and yet, humbled that God could
also use the Technical Team in spreading the Good
News.
We have experienced God’s hand and help in our
technical work and it is our goal to continue to
produce even more radio and television programs
for the Kingdom of God. Voice of Peace also provides
studios and technical services to individuals, other
Christian organizations and social organizations.

The Musical
Voices of the
Heart
In 2010, Voice of Peace Music Department produced a number of music
production ie. one hymnal album, one Christian worship album, and nine
music videos for “Praw Rak” television program. Friends from outside have also used
VOP audio studio in producing their music.
In December 2010, we received a Christmas present consisting of musical instruments from friends in Malaysia. This is an
answer to a long time prayer, and we are excited to be able to produce more music that meets the needs of the churches
in Thailand and neighboring countries. Some of VOP future music plans include Christian music for teenagers and children,
more hymnals, and songs of refugees in Mae La refugee camp.
Suwit and Panuwat work on a song in VOP music studio.
Merry sings for a music video for Praw Rak in VOP tv Studio.
“I’ve been listening to your
radio programs for many years
before becoming a Christian.
Your programs have helped my
family understand about God,
and we are all Christians now.
My husband is a changed man,
freed from all his vices and we go
to church as a family every week.
Thank you for leading our family
to meet the real light.” from a

Friendship With Our Voice
Bookstore
It is our joy to see the body of Christ benefitting
from Christian materials, and having a part in
the ministry of Voice of Peace. In 2010, VOP
bookstore has, in each month, seen an increase
in the number of sales of Bibles, Christian books,
and messages in audio and video formats. It is
inspiring to see that more people in Thailand
are becoming hungry for God’s Word, and are
starting to have a heart for missions. Some
customers have also become an Orchid Member
through VOP bookstore.
“I am so happy and
encouraged each time I
receive your letters. I read
them over and over every
time I face difficult situations
in life. You’ve helped me
believe in the goodness of
God and depend on Him
always. Thank you for

“In 2003, I was arrested and sent to prison because
I was involved with drugs. None of my family members
visited me because they lived far away. I went through
much suffering and sadness.
Three years later, I met Somwang who came to
visit the prisoners and share the Word of God. When I
listened to him, I felt warm and was touched.
The Word of God and the bible lessons gave me
something to hold on to. I realized that God loves me
so much that He sent His son to die for me at the cross
to redeem me from my sins. So I decided to receive
Jesus as my Savior. I gave Him my life and all my
burden. Now I am very happy.
I thank God who is full of love and mercy. I am
also thankful for Voice of Peace bible correspondence
lessons that helped me understand more about God.”
