Contractor List
This is a list of contractors from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. PPL does not recommend or prefer any of these contractors on the list. This is a list compiled from various resources. The homeowners participating in the Phillips Partnership Housing Stabilization Initiative Grant are recommended to ask the contractor for references, see work they have completed, and call recent customers and ask them if they would recommend the contractor to a friend. The homeowner for the Phillips Partnership Housing Stabilization Initiative Grant will need to know that: ‐
Get 2‐4 estimates from different contractors and verify their scope of work. ‐
Must verify the contractor is licensed, insured and bonded and send PPL a copy of each. ‐
No homeowner should sign any contracts or agree to pay any fees until it is approved in writing by PPL staff. ‐
PPL will not be responsible for any work that exceeds the $7,500. ‐
PPL will not pay for any work that is not in the scope of work. To verify the contractor is licensed by the state of Minnesota, you can call the Minneapolis Licensing Department at (612) 673‐2080, Department of Commerce at (651) 296‐2488, or online at: http://www.doli.state.mn.us/contractor.html Just as a reminder, the homeowner is responsible for locating the contractors, scheduling a time to receive estimates from the contractor, and working with the contractor to make sure the work is done at a high standard in a timely manner.
