With the advent of globalization and rapid
advancement in economy, enormous opportunities
have been thrown open at the doors of Indians. The
Indian government also realized that there is going
to be a big demand for well qualified and highly
competent technical personnel in our nation as well
as in other advanced countries of the world.
With this scenario in mind, we decided to set up an
engineering college which could offer exceptional
education facilities in engineering that are
comparable to those offered by world class colleges.
There were a large number of private engineering
colleges in South India, but very few in northern
part of India. Also, the standard of education
as well as the infrastructure, in many of these
institutions, was not up to the mark. We ensured
that the students in Kanpur Institute of Technology
and Kanpur Institute of Technology & Pharmacy
receive the highest quality of education and training
in a congenial atmosphere.
We earnestly hope that the aspirants of Engineering,
Computer Application, Business Administration
and Pharmacy will find tremendous learning
opportunities here and after completing graduation
would become leaders in their respective fields.

‘And miles to go before I sleep……’ these famous
words by Robert Frost epitomize the power of
human mind and determination. It is this philosophy
that manifests itself in the numerous milestones
which Kanpur Institute of Technology has achieved
during its journey through time.
We are led by a strong motivation for growth &
development and becoming better today than
what we were yesterday is what guides us. It makes
us proud to see our alumni charting their way
successfully in a highly competitive world of today.
Though we have a few feathers in our cap we are
careful enough not let contentment creep into our
minds. As such we are pleased to introduce a new
course in pharmacy- education.
We are committed to continuously upgrading the
knowledge and skills of our faculty through regular
faculty development programmes so that they can
prepare our students to face global challenges in
future. This year will also witness our renewed efforts
in maintaining excellent training and placements
record of our students.
Today, the world is facing a tough a time but as the
dictum goes “kite rises against the wind”, so will
KIT reach new horizons through the concerted
efforts of our dedicated faculty & staff and
exemplary performance of our students, thereby
complementing the vision of its founders.

All progressive organizations are an outcome of the
dreams, ideas and creativity of its leaders. A group
of engineers from IITs got together and began the
most ambitious programme of philanthropy. We
established Indus Technical Education Society, a
non-profit organization, and undertook the bold
venture of giving service to society through nongovernment education system. Under the aegis of
this society, Kanpur Institute of Technology was
born in the year 2004. It is fully approved by the
state and central government agencies.
KIT has now evolved as a symbol of quality
education dedicated to nurture the talents and
aspirations of the bright youth of nation. With this
spirit as the backdrop, KANPUR INSTITUTE
OF TECHNOLOGY (KIT), under the banner
of ITES educational institutions has matured as
a nationally reputed hub of technical education in
Kanpur. Our students have made us proud with their
excellent academic performance and zeal to learn. I
am grateful to the faculty, which ranks amongst the
best, for synergising so brilliantly with our students.
I wish them success in their future endeavours. Our
highly qualified faculty and state-of-the-art campus
with well planned buildings, labs and workshops etc.
have laid a sound foundation for imparting quality
technical education to young minds.

To provide overall development to the students, the
institute has established a Training Department and
a Placement & Corporate Relations Cell. I hope
that quality training through specialized personnel
from corporate world and the dedicated faculty at
our institute will result in good number of students
getting placed in renowned corporations. A well
focused value-added training in soft-skills will
develop confidence in our students, making them
better suited for the corporate world. The academic
ambience and the training modules followed by KIT
have placed it amongst the top technical institutions
affiliated to U.P.TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY.
On behalf of the entire KIT family, I welcome and
thank you for showing your faith in us to make
your career in Engineering, Computer Application,
Business Administration and Pharmacy. We assure
you that you will be provided with effective technical
training through our state-of-the-art infrastructure
and experienced faculty which will enable you to
become top technocrats & above all, better human
beings.
We at KIT work as a family unit and I most sincerely
welcome you to our family and hope that your stay
with us will be fruitful and memorable. Remember,
you have to perform your best in all your endeavours
and be guided by the words of Thomas Jefferson, “I

The journey which began in 2004 with the start of
Kanpur Institute of Technology is now completing
ten years. During the course of the last ten years,
the institution came to be known as KIT Group
of Institutions with the start of Kashi Institute of
Pharmacy.
The vision of the promoters continues to be the
establishment of the world class institution that is
academically one of the best in the northern region.
KIT has been able to establish certain major
landmarks. Firstly, the acceptance of Kanpur as an
education hub besides the Big Three, the city is
now home to over twenty-five engineering colleges.
Secondly, the focus on training and placement has
made the institute a leader in offering highly diverse
training programmes, both on and off campus, all
year round. This has culminated in a large number
of reputable companies coming for on-campus
recruitment, resulting in high placements record.
Thirdly, KIT concentrates on excellence by not
expanding into another institution, thus ensuring
that our focus is on quality rather than quantity!
The years ahead will see KIT Group of Institutions
consolidating and improving its standing in academic
circles. The focus on improved infrastructure, better
faculty and better results will continue, and hopefully
the vision of the promoters will become a reality in
the near future.
Education is the need of the nation, and the number
of colleges coming up every year ensures that
opportunities for higher education keep on increasing.
However, the dearth of quality institutions is still a
reality. Despite UP TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY
becoming one of the largest in the country, it is
trying valiantly to cope with the problems which
come with mushrooming growth. Parents and
students still have immense faith in government
colleges, making them their first choice despite
the absence of key infrastructure. And it is the very
excellence of the student base which works in their
favour. However, private institutions have also been
differentiated by older and newer institutes; the
preference of students is still towards older private
institutes. So, we have had to face the reality that a
vision takes years in taking shape, and thus involves
the continuous efforts of the promoters in realizing
the vision.

Progress of a country depends on development in
various areas such as economic, infrastructure, science
and technology, research, education etc. All these
developments are primarily related to literacy rate of
the country. Literacy rate may definitely be enhanced
by institutions imparting world class education with
supporting facilities.
With this view, Kanpur Institute of Technology
(KIT) was conceived in the year 2004 by a group
of engineers from Indian Institute Of Technology
in order to provide world class education in various
academic fields. The institute was established
with two important goals. Our first goal, was to
groom young minds into highly qualified globally
competent technical personnel and our second goal,
was to establish in Northern India, an institute with
modern infrastructure and advanced education
system as there were very few private engineering
colleges in Northern India before 2004 that had good
infrastructure and provided standard education.
KIT imparts education in Engineering courses,
Computer Application, Pharmacy and Business
Management. Over the years, the institute has
established itself as one of the top engineering
institutes of Gautam Buddha Technical University
(GBTU) in northern India by winning many laurels
with the help of untiring efforts of dedicated and
highly qualified management and faculty members.
I take this opportunity to congratulate them for
their endeavour. I am proud of the faculty members
and students of this institute for such exemplary
performances. I am sure that the institute will
perform even better in the future.
The quality education to the students is being provided
by the institute with the help of highly qualified faculty
from reputed institutions/universities and the state-ofart infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories and
workshops. The laboratories and workshops have been
equipped with latest instruments and machines in
order to provide up-to-date knowledge to the students.
The institute not only provides education to its
students but it also takes care of their placements.
For this, necessary training is given to the students in
their respective disciplines so that they can face any
challenges in their career. The Training Department
and the Placement & Corporate Relations Cell take
care of this and many students have been benefited
from their training and guidance. An appreciable
percentage of students have been placed with
renowned industries and corporate houses.
In spite of all the modern infrastructural facilities which
the institute already has, we are working hard to add latest
infrastructural facilities which are available for installation
for the benefit of our students so that they are at par with
any other national or international institution.
I invite you to join our KIT family if you desire
to have quality and standard education in various
disciplines. I hope that your stay with us will be quite
memorable and fruitful.

LIBRARY
Library is the most vital part of an institution because it plays a crucial role in the
growth and development of educational institutions. A Library is the hub & wheel of an
academic institution to move forward as it helps the faculty and the students to improve
their knowledge and stay abreast of current industrial development.
Library Timing:
8.30 A.M.
