all in millimeters. Example of an alternate EZ finish size tray made from a
P400 BS grid size with an alternate depth (rail height) of 38 mm (1.5 in.):
P400 BS grid width is 400 mm (15.75 in.) minus 2 x 38 mm (1.5 in.) = 324 mm
(12.75 in.) width creates a Cat. No. of CF38/324EZ

CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
Metal dimensions specified as "nominal diameter" or "nominal thickness"
may have an unlimited plus tolerance and a maximum of 10% minus tolerance.
Details of construction are given in the following illustrations and
figures and their related indices. These descriptions do not cover the
complete product. They are limited to describing the grounding path through
these trays with respect to cross-sectional area.
Painting – The cable trays may be powder coated painted. Maximum paint
process drying temperatures is 420 deg F (215 deg C).
The following conductive foiled tapes and mask tapes are required when
cable trays are powder coated painted: Chomerics Foiled Tape Type Cho-Mask
II or 3M Type 1183 foiled tape with Mighty Hook Type GTM mask tape.
Material - The cable trays are formed of materials as noted in the
finish code of the product nomenclature, as specified in page 1B of this
report unless specified otherwise in description of the specific part.
Marking - Classified Company’s name or trademark appear on the cable
tray. Tray is marked on the outer surface with the minimum total crosssectional area of the grounding members, “Mimimum Area_____SQ.IN.” The area
markings are below and shall conform to one of the following values.

The UL Representative shall determine the cross sectional area and
verify the correct markings are applied for any Part No. not specified. For
Custom Order Sizes, the cross sectional area and required marking shall be
identical to the area and marking for the standard tray part number made from
the same grid size. Refer to ILL. 18 and 19 for the tray part number and grid
size correlation. In example, a custom order size CF38/324EZ and standard
tray Part No. CF54/300 are both made from the P400 BS grid size and therefore
both have a 0.2695 sq. in. Cross-Sectional Area and require a “Minimum
Area 0.20 SQ.IN.” marking.
