Brilliant cut designs are the perfect way to decorate anything
containing glass, from mirror wardrobes and framed mirrors to doors,
double glazing and partitions. They reflect the light beautifully, add
interest and create a sense of quality and ambience.
A Brilliant Cut is a 'V' groove, ground into the surface of the glass,
which is then polished back to a brilliant finish. This decoration is often
used in association with the bevelled edge on the same sheet of glass,
and produces an elaborate and most desirable effect. As with the
bevel, the processes of refraction and reflection give Brilliant Cut Glass
an elegant and unique appearance.
Ravensby Glass Co Ltd uses CNC Technology which has opened up the art form into producing far
more intricate and fantastic designs than were ever possible by hand, and in a fraction of the time,
placing this once expensive but desirable decorative feature within reach of everybody.
Ravensby Glass' craftsmen are experts in the field of 'Brill Cutting' and as well as the popular
designs displayed, we are able to offer a bespoke brilliant cutting service and are happy to create
'one-off' designs in order to add the customers own unique touch to their home.

Each pattern is sized and customized for any shape, style and size of window including
double hung, slider, picture, casement, bay, bow, garden windows and patio doors and can be used
in any application appropriate to the base glass, either single glazed or in insulating glass units.

Once cut, the diamond facets remain a permanent feature, suitable for both exterior
and interior use.

Brilliant Cut Designs can be cut into obscured glass to add an element of privacy for toilets
and showers amongst other private areas.

Brilliant Cut Glass can be toughened once it has been cut to the correct size.
