PRODUCT OVERVIEW
To support MSOs in the deployment of Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) networks, ARRIS offers a family of RFoG ONU (R‐ONU) Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and complete end‐to‐end RFoG solutions, including ARRIS’s chassis‐based OR3144H Quad Diplexer/Return Receiver (with enhanced return path performance for DOCSIS® 3.0) and VHub‐based OR4148H Quad Diplexer/Return Receiver (for extended reach applications). ARRIS’s Single Dwelling Unit (SDU) R‐ONU is the second generation of RFoG R‐ONU meeting and exceeding the ANSI SCTE 174 2010 standard. For RF, the CP8018U‐02 supports a 5‐42 MHz return passband on 1610 nm and 54‐
1002 MHz forward passband on 1550 nm.

ARRIS’s 1610 nm return R‐ONUs incorporate thermally stable distributed feedback (DFB) lasers, key to supporting DOCSIS 3.0 and expanded return bandwidth. The CP8018U‐02 also supports overlay of all 10G and 1G/2G EPON services including 10/10, 10/1, 1/1, and 2/1 Gbps Turbo‐EPON (downstream/upstream). The R‐ONU includes an integrated WDM filter and optical pass‐through port for 1270, 1310, 1490, and 1577 nm wavelengths to enable direct optical connections to EPON ONUs.
A micro‐controller ensures stable laser turn on/off and OMI stability over varying temperature, exceeding the SCTE specifications.
In the forward path the R‐ONU provides a +19 dBmV output level with ALC control over a wide optical input range, ensuring stability with improved CNR performance.
The RF In/Out port (“F” connector) facilitates powering the device remotely over the same coax cable as the RF signal. A second “F” port is provided for dedicated powering options. The R‐ONU is protected by its cast aluminum housing to provide durability during installation and operational life. Optional accessories include AC wall adapter or battery‐backed UPS power supplies, weatherproof outdoor enclosures, and indoor mounting solutions.
