Fire safety products | TPI-48_PVM | Systemair Fire Air Grilles Fire resistance class EI160; EI190, EI2120, E120 and EW60 Ordering codes Nominal dimensions Type PVML×H ZV DV1 DV7-T and DV9-T Surface treatment of the outer grille (by default RAL 9007) NOTES: E = Casing integrity I = Thermal insulation On demand we deliver to the PVM perforated plates for esthetic reasons. Description and Usage PVM fire air grille serves as a fire closure between two fire sections without having to use an extra connection duct. It is embedded firmly into the fire partition structure. In case a fire occurs, the grille’s blades close the opening and prevent the fire from expanding into the next fire compartment. PVM have been tested in accordance with the EN 1634-1:2001 regulation and classified in accordance with the EN 13501-2:2005 regulation as EI190, EI2120, E120 and EW60. The servo-operated versions have been classified as EI160, EI2120, E120 and EW60. Operating Conditions All fire air grilles are standardly designed and certified in compliance with the EI performance regulations. PVM fire air grilles are intended to be embedded into fire partition walls. All PVM fire air grilles can be delivered with either a manual actuator or a servo. The PVM can be situated in an area where the operating temperatures fall within the range of -10 to 65°C. The active fire-proof sealing must not be exposed to direct contact with water. Allowed is only purge air without mechanic or chemical contamination with uniform flow, without condensation, ice coating and ice. The device is not actuated until the ambient temperature reaches 65°C. In case of need of adjustment for higher temperatures in the workplace it is necessary to consult such demands with the producer and indicate them in the purchase order accordingly. PVM grilles are designed to be used in vertical supporting constructions. 1/5 2/5 | TPI-48_ PVM | Fire safety products Transportation, Storage and Maintenance It is necessary to transport the PVM grilles by covered means of transport. When handling during transportation and storage, the air grilles must be protected against damage and weather conditions. The PVM blades must be in the “CLOSE” position. It is recommended to store these products in a closed, dry, area where the temperature falls within the range of -10°C to +50°C. The temperature during storage, transportation and installation must not exceed 65°C! Material Used and Disposal The product contains steel, zinc, a calcium-silicate board, graphite fire-proof laminate, polyurethane foam and ethylene-propylene dry rubber. These are processed in compliance with the local regulations. The product does not contain any dangerous material. Warranty The manufacturer provides a 24-month warranty period starting on the date of expedition. Appendix Any demands regarding deviations from the here mentioned technical specifications and conditions shall be discussed with the manufacturer. The manufacturer reserves the right to perform any modifications of the product without prior notice, provided that such changes have no effect on the quality and performance of the product. There are blades with a horizontal rotation axis (2) in it. Dividing insulation blades are made of calciumsilicate boards. The blades close themselves in opposite directions, triggered by a closing mechanism (3) (shifter and spring), or (servo and shifter) (3+4b). The blades are kept in an open position by a fusible thermal link (4a) until the ambient temperature exceeds 74 ± 1,5 °C. In servo-operated versions, the blades are kept in an open position by the servo itself and are closed by a built-in spring. The protective grating (5) prevents contact with the blades’ surface (which has a higher temperature when a fire occurs) and creates an air gap between the blades and the grating at the same time to enable air flow which cools down the blades’ surface. 3/5 | TPI-48_ PVM | Fire safety products Basic Dimensions and Weights L + 45 L + 95 155 Dimension L × H (mm) 200 × 400 × DV7-T, DV9-T (kg) AV 1) Dimension L × H (m2) (mm) Weight ZV, DV1 DV7-T, DV9-T (kg) AV 1) (m2) 220 6,6 - 0,020 220 11,2 - 0,062 320 9,2 10,1 0,028 320 15,5 16,5 0,088 420 11,8 13,0 0,036 420 19,9 21,2 0,114 520 14,4 15,8 0,045 520 24,3 26,0 0,149 620 17,0 18,7 0,053 620 28,6 30,6 0,167 720 19,5 21,4 0,062 720 33,0 35,3 0,194 820 22,2 24,4 0,070 820 37,4 40,1 0,220 920 300 × Fig. 4: Main dimensions of servo-operated PVMs Weight ZV, DV1 H H Fig. 3: Main dimensions of PVMs without a servo 155 L + 50 H + 45 L H + 45 4/5 500 × 920 24,9 27,4 0,079 42,0 45,0 0,247 220 8,1 - 0,034 220 12,7 - 0,076 320 11,3 12,4 0,048 320 17,7 18,5 0,108 420 14,5 16,0 0,062 420 22,7 23,8 0,140 520 17,8 19,6 0,077 520 27,7 29,0 0,173 620 21,0 23,1 0,091 620 32,6 34,2 0,205 720 24,2 26,6 0,106 720 37,6 39,4 0,238 2) 600 × 2) 820 27,4 29,6 0,120 820 42,6 44,7 0,270 920 2) 30,7 33,2 0,135 920 2) 47,8 50,2 0,303 220 9,6 - 0,048 820 49,7 52,2 0,315 320 13,3 14,3 0,068 420 17,1 18,4 0,088 520 20,9 22,5 0,109 620 24,6 26,5 0,129 720 28,4 30,6 0,150 820 32,2 34,7 0,170 920 2) 36,1 38,9 0,191 700 × 2) NOTES: 1) free area 2) lower fire resistivity for motorized PVM: E120 / EI1 60 / EI2 90 / EW60 Tab. 1: Dimensions, weights and free areas Fire safety products | TPI-48_PVM | 5/5 Technical parameters Durability test - 25 cycles Safe position - Closed Possible installations - Vertical wet / dry Airflow direction - Optional - Optional Side protected from fire - Manual - 74°C as standard (100°C on demand) by spring after the thermal fuse melts - Servo operated - 72°C as standard (95°C on demand) by springs in servo after the thermo-electrical fuse interruption Ambient temperature - In case of a 72 °C thermal fuse, the temperature should be a maximum of 65 °C, minimum -10°C Repeated opening - It is possible to open the device manually when it is cold - manual - 230 V microswitch in version DV1 - Inside only Maintenance - Not needed Systemair Suitability for ambience 04 / 2014 - servo operated – microswitches included in servo – versions DV7-T and DV9-T TPI-48 Closed/open indicator
