WELCOME TO BALI!
Kuta Beach was chosen as our first ETIC destination for its
wonderful scenery and quiet environment for networking and exchanging
ideas. Located at the west side of Bali island, there are number of
attractions located nearby Kuta Beach including Nusa Dua, Seminyak and
Ubud that can offer you a trip filled with culture, nature and art on top of the
knowledge gained during the conference. Besides enjoying the breeze air
by the beach and the rice terraces, you can also visit a range of temples
such as Leeng Gwan Kuta and Pura Gunung Kawi; water parks such as
Waterbom Bali and Circus Waterpark; and shopping mall such as Kuta
Beach Walk. If you have several days to spend for a vacation, why not
extend your trip to another island, Lombok that is located at the south-east
of Bali Island?
While getting updates from the recent technology during ETIC 2015, do not
forget to enjoy the beautiful scenery and appreciate the ancient
architecture in Bali!
Have fun!

technology development in various field
related to engineering technologies.
Hence it will be a broad discipline
conference that will gather a big crowd in
the future. Eventually, ETIC will become
a
premier
conference
among
the
academic, industry and business leader.
ETIC will provide a platform for every
participant to publish their results, share
information and build the networking
among themselves.

Professor Dr. Cliff Mirman
Professor and Chair, Department of
Technology
Northern Illinois University, United States
Background
Prof. Dr. Mirman is currently the Professor and Chair of Department of
Technology in Northern Illinois University. Under his leadership, the Department
has successfully achieved reaccredidation of the Industrial Management and
Technology program from ATMAE in 2002, 2008, and 2014. Beside his
academic contributions, he has also formed industrial partnerships, which have

over $100 000 grants in project support and material funding. Dr. Mirman was
awarded the NIU Presidential Engagement Professorship for his work in the area
of engagement with the community through research, economic development,
service and instruction in 2011.
Integrating Industry into Engineering Technology Education to
Produce Exceptional Graduates
Dr. Mirman will address the growing need for integrating industry needs into the
Engineering Technology programs. As educators, we constantly develop new
applications of technology in our curriculum and corresponding laboratories to
train our students, and we are always looking for new engagement opertunities
for our students so that they can learn these new skills through both theory and
application. To develop applications oriented technical professionals, that
satisfy the complex and changing needs of industry, there needs to be a strong
partnership between industry and academics. There are many modes in which
academics and industry can work together to increase the number of graduates
and develop needed skill sets. Technical education needs industrial input at all
stages in the development. This presentation will detail many of the modes
available through whioch the partnership can flourish.
