Prizes Worth ` 10000/Introduction:
To encourage creativity and to show-case innovative ideas Scientech Technologies Pvt. Ltd,
invites students to create innovative projects that might serve as solutions to day to day
challenges of a common man. It is open to UG, PG and Diploma of Engineering or Science
students.
The contest requires the students to conceptualize innovative solutions to any engineering
problem of interest to the industries or those that demonstrate some technological
advancement. They should develop such concepts into working prototypes and demonstrate
their applications.
The contest is not open to students who develop application software only without reference
to any hardware integration.
Team Size:
2 members
Students from different colleges can form a team.
Teams must produce a valid identity card of College for registration.

An understanding of the product development process is expected and credit will be given to
innovation and taking the concept to working prototypes.
Interested individual students or teams of not more than 2 persons per team should register
for the contest by submitting the Registration fees and following documents:
1) A write up of 500 words or less should be single-spaced, 12-point font, Project title,
department and author name(s) are to be clearly indicated at the top of the sheet.
Project overviews will be used to inform the judges the Concept and working principles
along with sketches if any, important aspects of the project by providing a brief
background, a statement of the problem, methods used with results, and conclusions.
2) Full postal address along with PIN and other contact details like email ID and phone
numbers
3) Name of the college/institution, class, college ID, Name & address of the Head of the
Institution with his/her Phone Number
4) Submit the abstract project electronically to Ashwini Karndikar Sule on ashwini@slc.bz
Final Phase of Selection:
The 10 selected teams from the previous phase will make a presentation of their final design
and also demonstrate their prototypes in front of a panel of judges and invitees.
Projects will be given space to display their projects to the audiences at the ekumbh event.
Competition Judging Criteria:
The project will be judged using the following four criteria:
1. COMMUNICATION (20%)
The team’s ability to effectively convey to the audience their project’s objective,
approach and conclusion is weighted the highest in this competition. Verbal
communication, diagrams, demonstrations, etc. can all be used to explain and support
the project’s design objective. Each member of the team is expected to participate to
some extent in the presentation, either verbally or as a demonstrator, just as they were
required to participate in the project itself.
The judges comprising this competition hail from a wide variety of technology and
industry backgrounds.
2. DESIGN APPROACH (30%)
Scoring in this category is based on a team’s design approach. Specifically, how well did
a team achieve its stated design objectives through implementation of a technically
sound strategy.
3. RESULTS AND SUPPORT (30%)
Scoring in this category is based on several criteria. First, how well do the technical data
and, if provided, cost analyses support the outcome. Second, how successfully does the
design outcome achieve the objective. A team’s ability to succinctly and clearly
articulate what was accomplished is crucial.
4. Application/ Usefulness: (20%)
Scoring in this category is based on where does this project find application

Certificate of excellence will be awarded to the top 2 winners.
Certificate of participation will be awarded to all the teams.
