CITY COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING
May 19, 2015
On May 19, 2015 the City Commission met for a Special Meeting at the San Benito
Municipal Building (Cesar Gonzalez Meeting Hall), 401 N. Sam Houston, San Benito,
Texas at 5:00 p.m. A quorum was present including the following:

Mayor Celeste Sànchez: Called the meeting to order, (5:00) “Welcome the City
Commission and special guests .
ITEM 2. CONSIDERATION AND ACTION ON RESOLUTION 2015-11: A
RESOLUTION FOR THE OFFICIAL CANVASSING FOR THE OFFICIAL RESULTS
FOR THE CITY GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 9, 2015 .
Mayor Celeste Sanchez read the numbers by precinct. Commissioner Rene
Villafranco moved to approve . Mayor Pro Tem Antonio Gonzales seconded the
motion. Voting Aye; Mayor Celeste Sànchez, Mayor Pro Tem Antonio Gonzales
Commissioners Rene Villafranco. Motion carried to approve RESOLUTION 2015-11:

A RESOLUTION FOR THE OFFICIAL CANVASSING OF THE MAY 9, 2015 CITY GENERAL ELECTION
There came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 9th day of May, 2015, for the purpose of electing two
Commissioners for Place No. 3 and Place No. 4 and appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that were cast at
said election and received the following votes:

Total Registered Voters in San Benito: 11,819, Total individual votes cast were 1929 for a percentage
of 16.32% amount of registered voters that actually voted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the City Commission of the City of San Benito that these
are the official results after the canvassing. Passed and Approved on this 19th day of May, 2015.
ITEM 3. OATH OF OFFICE.
The oath of office was given to re-elect Commissioner Joe D. González by the
Honorable Justice of the Peace David Garza Precinct 3-2 and newly elected
Commissioner Esteban Rodriguez his oath was given by the Honorable Guadalupe
Ayala Precinct 3-1.
ITEM 4. ADJOURNMENT.
Commissioner Rene Villafranco moved to adjourn . Mayor Pro Tem Antonio Gonzales
seconded the motion. Voting Aye; Mayor Celeste Sànchez, Mayor Pro Tem Antonio
Gonzales Commissioners Rene Villafranco. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 5:30.
