TRAVEL SECURITY EVACUATION ENDORSMENT
This endorsement modifies insurance provided under the following:
COMPREHENSIVE KIDNAP, RANSOM & EXTORTION CRISIS POLICY
In consideration of the premium charged, the Policy is amended as set forth below. References in the Declarations
to which this endorsement is attached shall determine the applicable Limits of Liability, Indemnity Period and/or
Waiting Period for the coverage provided herein, as well as any territories excluded from this extension of
coverage.
I.
COVERAGE
The Company agrees to indemnify the Named Insured and any Insured Person(s) pursuant to this
endorsement for Insured Loss(es) sustained as a direct result of an Insured Event(s) that requires the
Travel Security Evacuation of an Insured Person(s) or, in the event of death, his or her remains. The
coverage provided by this endorsement applies to Insured Event(s) that first occur during the Period of
Insurance and within the Territory set forth in Section I. of the Declarations.
II.
INSURED LOSS(ES)
The Company’s obligation to indemnify for Insured Loss(es) pursuant to this endorsement is limited to:

Reasonable and necessary Evacuation Costs, including:
(1)
costs incurred by the Named Insured or an Insured Person(s) for travel to the nearest
place of safety or to the Home Country;
(2)
accommodation costs incurred by the Named Insured or an Insured Person(s) while the
subject of a Travel Security Evacuation for a maximum period of ten (10) days;
(3)
the gross compensation, including salary, bonuses and any allowances, paid by the
Named Insured to an Insured Person(s) while the subject of a Travel Security
Evacuation, but, such amount:
a.
shall not exceed each covered Insured Person’s gross compensation
immediately prior to the Insured Event(s), and
b.
shall be reimbursed for a maximum period of ninety (90) days following the Travel
Security Evacuation, or until the date on which the Insured Person(s) can
resume previously agreed assignments or alternative assignments from a remote
location or through Relocation, whichever occurs first.
Personal effects left behind and irrecoverably lost by the evacuated Insured Person(s) up to the
limit shown in the Declarations.

C.
The fees and expenses of the Named Insured and/or the Insured Person(s) selected security
consultants if agreed to by the Company.
D.
If applicable, cost of tuition reimbursed by the Named Insured to an Insured Person(s) as a result
of an Insured Event(s).
The Company’s liability for Insured Loss(es) pursuant to this endorsement shall not exceed the
applicable per Insured Event(s) and/or per Insured Person(s) Limit of Liability stated in Section II. of the
Declarations.
III.
EXCLUSIONS
The following Exclusions are added to the Policy such that the Company shall not be liable pursuant to this
endorsement in respect of any losses for, caused by, arising from, or attributable to any of the following:
A.
Violation by the Named Insured and/or an Insured Person(s) of the laws or regulations of the
Home Country.
B.
The failure of the Named Insured or an Insured Person(s) properly to procure or maintain
immigration, work, residence or similar visas, permits or other documentation.
C.
A debt, insolvency commercial failure, the repossession of any property by a titleholder or any
other financial cause.
D.
The failure of the Named Insured and/or Insured Person(s) to honor any contractual obligation or
bond or to obey any conditions in a license.
E.
Insured Person(s) who are nationals or permanent residents of the Host Country in which the
Insured Event(s) takes place.
F.
Any Evacuation arising out of natural disasters including by not limited to earthquake, flood, fire,
famine, volcanic eruption, or storm (wind, rain, snow, sleet, hail, lightening, dust or sand).
G.
Any nuclear hazards, including, but not limited to, the presence of or threat by:

(1)
ionizing radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any irradiated nuclear fuel or from
any nuclear waste from spent nuclear fuel; or
(2)
the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any nuclear assembly or
nuclear component.
Any Insured Event(s) involving any Excluded Territories named in the Declarations.
DEFINITIONS
1.

For the purposes of this endorsement, the following words and phrases in bold have the meanings
set forth below:
A.
Evacuation Costs means the costs to evacuate an Insured Person(s) as a result of an
Insured Event(s). Such costs shall be the reasonable and necessary Transportation
Costs. The cost of accommodations incurred by an Insured Person(s) is limited to a
maximum period of ten (10) days.
B.
Travel Security Evacuation means the evacuation of an Insured Person(s) from a Host
Country to the nearest place of safety or to the Insured Person(s) Home Country, as a
result of an Insured Event(s).

C.
Host Country means any country in which an Insured Person(s) is present as a
consequence of his or her employment by the Named Insured.
D.
Insured Event(s) means:
(1)
appropriate authorities of an Insured Person’s Home Country issuing for security
related reasons, a recommendation that categories of persons which include the
Insured Person(s) should leave the Host Country in which that Insured
Person(s) is engaged in travel;
(2)
an Insured Person(s) being expelled or declared persona non grata on the written
authority of the recognized government of the Host Country where the Insured
Person(s) is engaged in travel;
(3)
the wholesale seizure, confiscation or expropriation of the property, plant and
equipment of the Named Insured located in the Host Country where the Insured
Person(s) is temporarily engaged in travel; and/or
(4)
both the Named Insured and the Company approved Security Consultants
agreeing that, for security related reasons, an Insured Person(s) should leave the
Host Country.
E.
Home Country means the country of which an Insured Person(s) is a national or
permanent resident.
F.
Transportation Costs means any travel related costs, at economy class fares on any
licensed common carrier operating from a published timetable. In the event that the
Insured Person(s) is in imminent physical peril, Transportation Costs will apply to any
appropriate means consistent under the circumstances with the health and safety of such
Insured Person(s).
As respects Travel Security Evacuation and this endorsement, the Insured Person(s) definition
is deleted from Section III. Definitions, and replaced with the following:
Insured Person(s) means any Insured Person(s) who at the time of the Insured Event(s) is
present in the Host Country as a consequence of his or her employment by the Named Insured
and is not a citizen or permanent resident of the Host Country. Insured Person(s) includes any
relative traveling with such Insured Person(s) in the Host Country at the time of loss.
V.
CONDITIONS
It is agreed that for the purposes of this endorsement the following Condition is added:
Coverage for Travel Security Evacuation shall apply once per Insured Person(s) per Insured Event(s).
All other terms and conditions of the Policy remain unchanged.
