Tasks
- Drive forward ongoing improvements relating to
insulated-gate bipolar transistor products, e.g., with regard to
quality, yield, and costs
- Assume responsibility for material costs associated with
power semiconductors
- Contribute to the attainment of yield targets for the entire
unit, e.g., by performing analyses and compiling data
- Come up with ideas aimed at streamlining costs by using
new materials or by making design adjustments
- Support Purchasing department when responding to quality
issues surrounding bought-in materials
- Help to define basic principles for the use of materials and
coatings in power semiconductors
- Set up experiments in compliance with standards and apply
statistical methods to find root causes and investigate
yield-related issues
Requirements
- Degree (possibly PhD) in Materials Engineering, Process

Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics,
or Chemistry (or similar)
- Excellent knowledge of engineering or physics,
complemented by a basic understanding of electrical
engineering and, in particular, power electronics
- Proficiency in the use of statistical methods applied in
research and development as well as manufacturing (SPC,
ANOVA, Weibull)
- Good command of German and English, both written and
spoken
- Team spirit, together with quality awareness, a
results-oriented approach, and a keen interest in innovation
