Corona-Plus
In-line treatment of 3D plastic products
Top quality adhesion of printing inks, adhesives or
coatings on polymer materials, such as PE, PP, PS,
EPDM-rubber and other substrates, is a common
requirement throughout the plastic and rubber processing industry.
All polymer materials exhibit by nature a low surface
energy, resulting poor adhesion and wetting properties. To cope with such difficulties Vetaphone offers a
series of conveyor systems with integrated CoronaPlus system. The series are designed with Rotary
Motion (CP-RM) for optimum surface treatment of all
3D surfaces.
ROTARY MOTION CP-RM
The complete Corona-Plus system conforms to CEregulations and consists of a compact, computerised
generator, a corona station with special CP-RM electrodes, and a ventilator with a filter to eliminate ozone.
Specifications:
* Speed: 0,5-150 m/min, depending on material
* Treatment width:
* CP-RM-3 - 300 mm
* CP-RM-6 - 600 mm
* CP-RM-9 - 900 mm
* Treatment height: 150 mm max
* Item movement: Available with either O-ring belts
or flat belt
The design is built with a modular electrode system
made in non-corrosive materials, featuring a minimum
of wearing parts and a compact design as the CP-RM
leaves the possibility of installing further electrodes if
required. The Corona-Plus system is universal for
many applications and the customers manufacturing
process is always taken into careful consideration,
ensuring the Corona-Plus system will suit all semi- or
fully automatic production lines.

Treatment
Top quality adhesion of printing inks, adhesives or
coatings on polymer materials, such as PE, PP, PS,
EPDM-rubber and other substrates, is a common
requirement throughout the plastic and rubber processing industry.
All polymer materials exhibit by nature a low surface
energy, resulting in poor adhesion and wetting properties. However, exposing the product to electrical corona discharge prior to a finishing process, the surface
energy increases considerably to yield the optimum
bonding quality.
VETAPHONE Corona 3-Plus systems are available for
surface modification of all sorts of 3-dimensional plastic and rubber products, and the customers' manufacturing processes are always taken into careful consideration, ensuring the corona system will suit all semior fully automatic production lines.
The CP SPOT creates a high voltage, high frequency
corona discharge, which is directed towards the substrate's surface by air pressure. The treatment width is
25-30 mm. Customer has to supply : 230V and clean
CP SPOT
compressed air, 6bar.
The complete Corona 3-Plus system conforms to CEregulations, and consists of a compact, computerised
generator and a spot head with exchangeable electrodes.

CP-LAB-PLASMA treater for 3D objects
The CP-LAB-PLASMA treater is a specially designed and
competitive plasma treater, which matches the industry's
demands and wishes for an ideal surface treatment of 3D
objects.
Wide range of use
It's a method to modify surfaces on different materials
including plastic, metal and composite materials such as
ceramic and glass for further processing. It is possible to
distinguish between four superior modifications of the
Plasma surface treatment such as:
!
!
!
!
To obtain better wettability and adhesion
To clean the products and hereby avoid adhesion problems and improve quality
To coat materials by the use of certain gasses
To activate products and hereby prepare surfaces prior
to e.g. gluing and coating
CP-LAB-PLASMA
The Corona-3Plus Plasma technique ensures that all surfaces, even on complex structures, will be evenly corona
treated with a long lasting effect. It is constructed as a
high-speed vacuum system to optimise the productivity.
All process parameters are adjustable and automatically
controlled. The process data such as treatment time,
treatment power and vacuum level is monitored and displayed on the control panel.
The CP-PLASMA equipment can be designed with an
automatically in-feed / out-feed system primarily of interest for high-speed in-line productions.
Vacuum chamber
Size : 700mm x 400mm x 400mm
Trays : 2 trays 690mm X 390mm
Accessible from the front
Ultra efficient vacuum pump for fast testing cycles.
CP-LAB-PLASMA - 170x80x50 cm (LxWxH)
The CP-LAB-PLASMA treater is prepared for connection
to different kinds of gasses dependent on what material is
being treated and the desired quality and characteristics.
Low cost processing equipment
The CP-LAB-PLASMA treater is a flexible unit that can be
used both in production and in a laboratory. The unit is a
compact combination of a Corona-Plus generator and a
Corona-Plus vacuum chamber, with trays to place the
items for Corona-Plus plasma treatment.

CP LABORATORY UNIT
Corona laboratory unit for fast and
precise off-line testing
Corona power is generated from an efficient solid
state 2KW generator computer controlled with digital
indication in Watt×min/m2.
The CP-LAB design ensures fast, easy and convenient off-line testing of how the Corona-Plus treatment
improves the surface adhesion on plastic and metallised substrates.
Motor controlled adjustable test speed from 0,5
mtr/min to 600 mtr/min. Digital indication in mtr/min.
The unit is a compact combination of a generator,
treater station and motor control, complete with ozoneeliminator. Included are a variety of ceramic and metallic electrodes and covered and bare backing rolls,
which give the option to test both conductive and nonconductive substrates with multiple configurations.
The CP-LAB is ready for immediate use also for single
sheet production. It can be used completely independently in any convenient location.
Changeable electrodes - Snap-in electrode (SI) and
Profile electrode (PF5 and PF9) for non-conductive
materials, and Ceramic electrode (C4) for conductive
