AUDIENCE
This training is conducted by John Crockett, W3KH to support the SCHEART
initiative. All participants are welcome and will be encouraged to consider
becoming a volunteer for emergency response organizations (hospitals, shelters,
and other healthcare affiliates as well as medical response and ESF-8 agencies).
CREDIT
Students taking this course will be prepared to take the Extra Class Licensing
Exam which will be offered at the end of class on the second day of the training.
COST
There is no cost for the training; however each student is required to purchase a
training manual in advance and the licensing exam is $15 (cash or check) payable
on the second day of the class. Receipts are available upon request.
MATERIALS
Each applicant must purchase a manual entitled, “The ARRL Extra Class License
Manual 9th Edition “ for Ham Radio at $29.95 prior to the class or you can obtain a
manual at registration for $20.00. To obtain a manual from ARRL please follow
this link www.arrl.org/shop or call toll free 888-277-5289.
DESCRIPTION
This is a two-day instructor led class designed to prepare participants for taking
the Amateur (Ham) Radio Operators’ Extra Class License exam. Each participant
must hold a General Class License. Study material will be sent to all participants
via e-mail upon registration.
