Scavenger Hunt Exercise
San José State University
Instructions:
In groups of at least three people, take your campus map and make sure to complete all of the activities in the Basics
and Major Research boxes. Complete as many activities as you can in the Campus Life and Random Fun Stuff boxes.

Stipulations:
1.
At least 2 group members must be present in every picture.
2.
The same 2 group members cannot be in the same picture more than 3 times.
3.
Items you take pictures of must be plainly visible.
4.
Check items off as you complete them.
5.
Number the buildings on your map in the order you visited them and mark the path you followed.
Basics
□ Office of Visitor Relations and Office of Admissions:
Take a picture in front of the Admissions office
□ Financial Services/Financial Aid: Take a picture in
front of the Financial Aid Office.
□ Registrar's Office: Take a picture with a transcript
request form.
□ Choose a College Major Office: Take a picture in front
of the Department Office.
□ Take a picture in front of the circulation desk of the
SJSU Library.

Campus Life (complete as many as possible)
Bookstores: Take a picture in front of the Spartan
bookstore. Go inside and explore!
Sport Club: Take a picture in the front.
SJSU Student Union: Take a picture in the front of a
student organization table.
Housing: Take a picture in front of any dorm building.
Student Health Center: Take a picture in front of the
building.
Major Research
This part will be done individually. Your interest will more
than likely not match those of your group members.
Choose 2 majors, find their offices, and answer the
following questions on a separate sheet of paper.
 What are the names of the 2 majors you are
interested in?
 Where is the department office located?
 What are the prerequisites for your major (classes
you must complete before you declare the major)?
 How many units must you complete within the major
in order to graduate?

Random Fun Stuff (completely as many as possible)
Take a picture in front of the MOSAIC Cross Cultural
Center.
Take a picture in front of the Event Center.
Take a picture in front of The Tower, the oldest
building on campus. SJSU is the oldest public
university in California.
Take a picture at the 1968 Olympics statue of Tommie
Smith and John Carlos.
Take a picture in front of the International House, fun
housing for foreign students.
