AIM 2014 conference brings together an international community of experts to discuss the state-of-the-art, new research results, perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to mechatronics, robotics, control, automation, and related areas. AIM 2014 conference invites submissions of high quality research papers describing original work on the following topics, but not limited to: Actuators, Automotive Systems, Bioengineering, Data Storage Systems, Electronic Packaging, Fault Diagnosis, Human-Machine Interfaces, Industry Applications, Information Technology, Intelligent Systems, Machine Vision, Manufacturing, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, Micro/Nano Technology, Modeling and Design, System identification and adaptive control, Motion Control, Vibration and Noise Control, Neural and Fuzzy Control, Opto-Electronic Systems, Optomechatronics, Prototyping, Real-Time and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation, Robotics, Sensors, System Integration, Transportation Systems, Smart Materials and Structures, Energy Harvesting and other frontier fields of mechatronics. Contributed Papers Accepted and presented papers will be indexed by EI, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI Proceedings) and SciVerse Scopus. All papers will go through a rigorous, single-blind reviewing process. Accepted papers will be presented in an oral-presentation during the conference. In addition, all contributions will appear in full-length without distinction in the conference proceedings, and will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. Best Paper Awards All submitted papers will be evaluated for the Best Conference Paper Award, and Best Student Paper Award. Tutorials & Workshops Proposals for half day or full day tutorials and workshops addressing new topics in intelligent mechatronics are invited for submission to the T/W Chairs. Proposals must include (1) statement of objectives, (2) intended audiences, (3) list of speakers, and (4) list of topics. Organized Sessions Organized session proposers should submit to the Organized Session Chairs a brief statement of purpose for the session as well as the abstract of the papers to be included. A typical organized session consists of 4 to 5 related papers. Industrial tour A tour of industrial activities related to Mechatronics will be organized. Venue AIM 2014 will be held in Mercure Hotel and the Nouveau Théâtre de Besançon. Besançon can be easily reached by train from the international airports of Paris, Basel, Lyon, Geneva and Zurich.
