Definition Glutes –refers to the three gluteal muscles, gluteus maximus, the gluteus medius and minimus. Functional – exercises that have some carry over into everyday life. 2. Facility policy and procedure refers to the operations manual or documented normal operating procedures at a fitness facility. 3. The candidate must be assessed instructing a class of at least five participants. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of alignment, core body muscles, health and safety, structure and exercises for a Core Conditioning with equipment class. Range equipment may include but is not limited to – swiss balls, bosu, dumbbells or free weights, instability discs, tubing, medicine balls, kettle balls, suspension training equipment. Evidence requirements 1.1 Describe the importance of alignment for core conditioning with equipment in a group fitness class. Health and safety requirements for a core conditioning with equipment group fitness class are demonstrated and described in in accordance with facility requirements. Range 1.4 Neutral spine, core rotation, core engagement. Core body muscles, posture, breathing and optimum alignment in terms of core conditioning training are demonstrated and described in accordance with the class plan. The structure and exercises in a particular core conditioning with equipment group fitness class are described in accordance with the class plan. Range may include but is not limited to – squat, lunge, push, pull, bend, twist, rotate, gait, functional exercises, integrated exercises, floor based core exercises one or more piece of equipment. Outcome 2 Instruct a core conditioning with equipment class. Range may include but is not limited to – swiss balls, bosu, dumbbells/ or free weights, instability discs, tubing, medicine balls, kettle bells, suspension training equipment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Core conditioning with equipment techniques are demonstrated and instructed to enable participants to safely and effectively complete the class in accordance with the class plan. Range 2.2 warm up, stretching, equipment use, Participant performance is monitored and modifications to individual performance are communicated according to need in accordance with the class plan.
