3 In this unit standard, relevant means fitness for purpose, in terms of:

• the purpose of the report

• the context, situation, occasion

• the subject matter

• the intended reader(s)

• all organisational requirements, which must be or closely resemble the actual requirements of an actual workplace.

4 An incident report could be about - an accident, a machine breakdown, a spillage, a quality problem, or a staff shortage.

5 Legislation relevant to this unit standard may include but is not limited to - the Health and Safety in

Employment Act 1992, and its subsequent amendments.

Use of fullstops, capital letters, and commas is accurate. 1.4

1.5 Vocabulary, including any technical language used, is relevant, accurate, clear, and contributes to a relevant tone for the report.

1.6 Spelling is at least 90% accurate, and any errors do not appreciably affect the effectiveness of the report.

1.7 Report achieves its intended purpose.
